It was recommended to me by my breeder to occasionally feed my puppy an egg with his regular food to help out his coat. That or some yogurt. |
Raw eggs and milk would give Abbi a very loose stool. But I think that if the puppy is doing fine with the cooked eggs, then it shouldn't be a problem. Allergies can develop to eggs overnight, so keep that in mind if something changes in the future.
Yogurt is also recommened for coat. We give Abbi a small amount every once in a while. But like eggs, dogs can become allergic or sensitive to things .... so if they suddenly become loosed boweled, quit feeding them the eggs or milk prducts for a bit and see if it helps ...in the future. Some dogs never have a problem with either or it wouldn't be recommended so often. I was told a teaspoon of olive oil would help their coats too. I put in fish oil occassionally for the same reasons. I guess we get as bored of serving the same thing to the dog as the dog gets of eating it? A good dog food should keep their coats shiny, but .... |
Lennon had some digestive problems with milk products when he was little, the vet said it was some intestinal blockage caused by allergy to milk products so be careful. He eats beaten eggs from time to time (Seems to love them) and it's recommended by vets to improve the coating, I guess if Jule's eating them now she'll be fine, but since she's still young, keep an eye on her for allergies. |
