One of the big issues that she had was she did not like to be kenneled. She gave the handlers a hard time when it was kennel time, so much that she was labled as difficult. Well, my dogs are crated during the work-week, every monring until noon. We had no time to gently ease her into the whole crating thing, so it was a real struggle every morning getting her in, and then she would paw and scream and cry until we left. Not sure how long she carried on for. About two weeks ago she started to go into her crate in the morning, by herself, in anticipation of her treat. Of cource she would still carry on once the door was closed, but the stuggle to get her in was over. Last week every morning she was in her crate waiting for her treat, on schedule, and not a sound as we got ready to leave. This weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, I put her in her crate for a couple of hours WITH ME STILL IN THE HOUSE, as I did computer stuff, and housework. Not a sound. I am sooooo thrilled that we have finally gotten over this hurdle. Yaahhhh for Dixie! |

Good job! That's quite an accomplishment, it can be SO difficult to get an adult crate trained..... it sounds like persistence won out over noise this time |
