I'm So Excited!! I'm going to foster a puppy for a month!

Yesterday, GA emailed myself and Sandyj (new member, who has Finn and Balou) and asked both of us, if we would be willing to foster a 9 week old puppy till the end of April. I, of course jumped at the chance and said yes.

This puppy's mothers is Sasha.. she was rescued from the same place as my Murphy, Nicole's Dixie and Sandy's Finn... So this baby is a cousin to all of ours. She is being fostered in NB right now, but apparently she is to much of a puppy for her other dogs, on the go go go all the time, isnt' that what puppies do? (that is the reason I was given by the foster mother). The adoptive parents are from Halifax but are going on a trip and won't be back until the 27th, so a new foster home was needed till then. I am driving to the NB/NS border to pick her up on Saturday.

I am so excited......I have posted a new picture of her.. just waiting for
approval.... This may cure my cravings for a puppy.

This is a picture of her that is already posted in the puppy section.

I love that picture! She looks pretty bossy! What a great chance to get a little puppy fix in without the long term obligation to train. . .
But then what happens if you don't want to send her home :( :(
Temporary puppy, that's even better than the long term ones!

She does look like she's gearing up to give you a workout!
Little Miss Sassafrass!! (in her best Mae West voice) "Move on over boys - here I come!!" :D

How fun for you! :D
Oh, man! What a look she is giving!

Can't wait to hear the moans and groans from Nova Scotia about the puppy shenanigans! :D :D

Have a ball, Brenda. It will be so fun because it is only temporary!
Awww... she is so cute!

She has been a handful since she could walk from what I have heard!
Crystal,(don't remember her username?) who is another oes.org member, is the one who fostered the momma and rasied all those puppies.
She is a cutie and does have that little imp look to her. Bet she is going to be lots of fun.
Enjoy
She's going to be so much fun!
haha she definitely has that mischeivious puppy look... good luck!
Oh WOW how much fun will that be. She is absolutely adorable, real monster baby naughty look about her. You will have so much fun and a busy 9 weeks. I don't think I could hand her back after 9 weeks she is just tooooo cute :D
She does look like the Devil.... hehehe.. I am so excited... we only get to keep her for 2 weeks then her real parents come to get her...

Troy keeps on saying.. she's only visiting... she's not staying right... right?

Have to go and dig out those puppy books.... oh wait.. Murphy ate them.. we're doomed.
we are so excited to see the new pup! heres to romping at the park!! :D
Oh my precious little Sadie, I love that second pic.. I never seen that one before Brenda...I had Sadie until she was 7 weeks her and Madie, her look alike... were actually pretty quiet and laid back... Sassie who was adopted by the Millers in the states was the one that never gave us a moment of rest hahah but she was precious and got the name Sassie honestly... she had attitude... I remember that Sadie was a real kisser she would lick us silly... Madie her look alike would also lick you but quickly decide biting was more fun haha... how cute they all turned out to be.. it was alot of work but definately a memorable experience.
Awwww you must miss them so much :(
You did a good job :)
I agree with Stacy!!!

Crystal deserve a hugh pat on the back, first she rescues a puppers from a horrible situation, who has medical issues, like Dixie.. then she finds out the puppers is pregnant, if I remember correctly, this is her first dog EVER.. so her she is with a new dog, with medical and social issue, pregnant.. she helps deliver and raises healthy, happy puppies in her home. When the times comes, she agonizes over finding the right new parents.. takes the time to meet them, checks out their homes and bases her decision on this. She has done a wonderful job and should be very proud of herself and her family.

I just want to point out that the puppy that I will be looking after went to a foster home 3 weeks ago.. one that the Springer Rescue has used in the past.. it is from this foster lady that I will be getting the baby... apparently it is to puppy like for her dogs....

What do you think that means?
Maybe she is used to spaniels, so finds OES's a bit different...Bigger, for one thing. Even though she looks like she has some spaniel in her, she is still huge.

As for too much puppy, just re-read the recent posts and get preprared!

I wanted you to have a BAD girl, like Sassie....I certainly hope that Sadie gets real comfortable, real fast at your place. And keeps you on your toes!
I know.. I am trying to avoid the Pippin and Fozzy posts...I'm so excited..., Troy is still mumbling.. she's not staying right?

Have you noticed I haven't posted much lately??? :D
Hopefully, that's because things are going GREAT... right?
Even when they're being a little umm... NAUGHTY thing are going great! No matter how much Pip might misbehave, having an OES puppy is sheer joy!!! I wouldn't trade my baby boy for all the tea in china! even when I'm standing in pouring rain and Pip is chewing on my pant leg instead of pottying! :hearts: I love my baby boy!!!! :hearts:

have fun with your puppy sitting, I'm sure the 2 weeks will fly by!
Thanks so much guys I certainly did put alot of care and love into those pups... we do miss them but its nice at the same time... it was time I had a good night sleep haha...and time for Sasha to really get to know us.. she has been doing well since the pups have left she seemed relieved.....Sasha is our first dog.. and oh boy what a experience we have had.. but we enjoyed it, hard work and all... they pups do show signs of springer in them but they are all huge....Thomas was 15 pounds last week when my aunt picked him up... the pup that went to the northern states was even heavier then him....so they are not going to be tiny that is for sure....I am sooooo excited we arranged to get Sadie from the foster girl tomorrow morning and we are taking her to meet Brenda... I am so excited to see her again. :) I hope she likes car drives Thomas and Sassie did not mind their trips to their new homes...we are hoping to get away in time tomorrow to stop by my Aunt's place to show them Sadie and let her see Thomas. :) Should be fun.
15 lbs at how many weeks old?
That sounds like a big pup!
oh my goodness! How lucky!!! She looks darlin'
Since she's a pup ...going to a new home... hopefully you only see the honeymoon period where everything is peaches and cream. :)
He was turning 9 weeks on Wednesday.. they took him home Tuesday night.. they would have been 10 weeks old this Wednesday that just went by... Sassie was 13 pounds when we took her to the Miller's she was only 7 weeks old .. going on 8 weeks in 4 days I guess... they were big pups....Sadie will likely be at least as big as Thomas cause Thomas was the smallest one.. when born and stayed a couple pounds lighter then the girls....all the time we had them.. he was always the runt haha
Sigh a puppy...oh I'm so jealous  Yet happy for you at the same time! Yup no matter how mischievious they are you have to laugh at their antics! Best wishes with the new puppy and can't wait to hear all about it!

Marianne and the boys
Dudster, we haven't heard from you in a while. How's the pup?
Love your new avatar Stacy!!!

Sadie went to her furever home  . It was extremely hard to drive her there.. it is amazing how attached you get to the little monsters in a short time...

I absoutely loved the time she spent with us.. I forgot how precious puppies were.... and I also forgot how much of a pain in the @## they could be (hehehe).

I have had a few emails from her new family. They are head-over-heels in love with her.. they live in the country on a lake and her grandma and grandpa are home with her all day, so she gets a lot of one on one attention. I have a feeling she may be spoiled..

This experience has made me want a puppy in a bad way....
Have fun with her!!! She is beautiful!
