Yes I really do have six sheepdogs. Barkley was my first from a good breeder in my state. I loved him so much I went back and got his sister...who is Bella. I was on the waiting list a couple years later to get one more puppy (Brewster) from the same breeder. In the meantime, there were two OES rescued dogs (Bailey and Brudy Blue) 50 miles from my home. I had put my name in as a rescuer a long time back when it was just Barkley. Well of course I just had to take one. I asked for Brudy since his eyes were so amazing but someone from another state had a deposit on him. I went out there and met Bailey who was a puppy mill reject they were going to put him down for not wanting to breed ( and he was only 7 months) so we took him home. He is an absolute angel-total love bug. Then a few days later they called back and said Brudy was free and didn't have a home. So I went back and got him too. ( after much thought and a few phone calls to grannie annie) So there I was with 5 sheepies. Barkley, Bella, Brudy, and Bailey..all are spayed/nuetured. Well I told my husband that my dream was to get a female from a total different family and breed Brewster once. I never had that experience as a child and wanted to do it one time. So thats were Blossom comes in. I thought it would be wonderful for them to be puppies together and grow up and in a couple years breed them. Why did I stick with B names? Im not sure...it's kinda funny. I don't get the dogs names mixed up but I do mix up the kids! I didn't have to do anything to twist my husbands arm. He puts up with it because he loves me. We have land and fencing and a doggie door which leeds into a half finished basemant full of doggie toys and an old sectional couch for them to sleep on. I will bath and brush each one at different times....maybe with a few days in between. It is a joy to sit outside and watch them run and play. They all adore me and each have a different personality. So thats it. That's my life. I have a sheepie farm and I love it] |
