Meet Sofi, our new OES family member!
Sofi came home last week to be our latest addition to our family. There were this new neighbor to be that fell in love with Lennon and told us that they had 2 of them and that were happy to know they were going to have a friend in their block. Unfortunately, she could not move to their new home and they could not take care of their OES  so she approached to us to ask if we could adopt them, so we said yes to one... (We didn't know what we were doing at the time  )
Sofi was heavily mated and skinny when she came home, so the first thing to do was a trip to the groomer to see what could be done for her. We came to the groomer to pick her up and almost had a fit... We had a shaved OES!!! The groomer girl was nice to explain why she started shaving her, because she had never combed her hair was mated beginning very close to her skin and the only way we could help her was by letting her hair grow again. Next, the visit to get her medicine and food. Lennon and Sofi were a showstop at petsmart, everybody wanted to pet and play with them... I guess they never got that much attention! After almost a week of having Sofi at home, she knows us and greets my wife or me when we come from work and they happen to be running at the park. She looks for us to pet her and she's learning to play and fetch balls and toys (She never had toys before, according to her owner  ). We already taught her to sit and she barks when we leave to work.
We had a big surprise 2 days ago when Sofi's former mommy came to ask us if we could take her sister Frida too. She was planning to sell her but she told us she couldn't do it after she saw how we treated our OES's 
Frida will arrive tomorrow, and we'll get her ready to go live with our sister in law. Our backyard is not big enough for 3 OES to run freely, so she will live with her but continue to be a part of our great OES family. How exciting! What a wonderful thing you have done opening your hearts to Sofi and Frieda! They are so lucky to have you. How are Lennon and Sofi getting along? I have Jack and Annabelle so it is a lot of fun to have 2 that love each other so much. Did you name Lennon after John Lennon? If I had the choice and not my kids Jack would have been John and Annabelle would have been Yoko. Oh, well. I love them just the same. It is time to go pick up the kiddo's from school. You and your wife are wonderful taking in all these sheepies. You two must be sheepie magnets. I wish you were a little closer. I would like a new puppy but I know that's impossible unless I hit a lottery soon, so I will probably be looking around for a female that's around a year old as my other girls were when I got them. I caught the pics of Lennon & Sofi on dogster the other nite when I was checking out one of the other pups there. They are great shots. If you happen to be passing thru Saratoga Springs, NY with a few of your extra sheepies, please stop by, I'd gladly take one in. I should change my handle to Sleepless Without Sheepie ! |

I saw your post and see that you live in Saratoga? My sister lives up there. Every summer I try to head up there for opening track week. What a great town and so much fun! |
| Not to get off the topic of Lennon, Sofi & Frida who are the luckiest sheepies going right now.
But, yes Toga Town is a great place. I love the horses but not the crowds. If you are up this way this summer definitely drop me a quick note and maybe we can get together for coffee or a brew. Stormi, I would of voted John & Yoko. They would of been great names for your pair. |
| I voted for calling Sofi Yoko, but she did not respond very well and I was outvoted. Sofi is a nice name and reflects her personality very well.
If I ever win the lottery we'll have 4 OES's called Lennon, Paul, Ringo & George.

| OHHHHHHHHHHH I'm so jealous!!!! Three sheepies!!! How lucky can you be that someone knocks on your door and offers them to you!! This is the kind of stuff people dream about happening!

| yea, ive been begging my parents to let walter get a friend. i cant imagine how fun it would be with 3 sheepies!

| Man! 3 sheepies is really a handful... All the jumping and chasing can get you exhausted, but it is incredibly fun, I'm really thankful for the chance to have them at home. The experience is just awesome... You were right, it's what dreams are made of.
