Fosters and Lucy?

My family has been doing rescue work for about two years now and we love it. Here is the problem...everytime we have a foster dog Lucy seems to get very attached and wimpers for several weeks after they leave. I have thought about getting her a playmate but she is so good with rescues and there isn't a garentee that the next dog would be. Plus, I am in a smaller house and if we got another dog I don't know if we would have the space to continue the foster work. So, will she get used to it or is there anything we can do to help her with it? Thanks!

I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions.
I just wanted to say how sweet it is that Lucy is such a great foster parent.
Bless you too for doing it.
I sorry too, I don't have an suggestions to help.

Also wanted to say how terrific lucy is and she is so special too and must have such a big sweet heart & nature. Sounds like she really does love them all and gets so attached. :D
Does Lucy have a chance to meet other dogs away from home? She sounds like a true care-giver. Maybe she needs a job like a therapy dog.
WOW, I never thought of that. What is entailed in her becoming a therapy dog?? Also, we do go to the bark park often when her hair is shorter.
