Do it again Kaye DO IT AGAIN |
Are you keeping extensive records Kaye? Like how many you've adopted out? And to whom and from whom, and how they found you, and everything like that? |
Ron, Yes Ron we keep very extensive records. Are you asking about the Little Babies or all the Rescue Babies. Are you worried about me? Sheepie Hugs, Kaye |
I bid on a whole bunch of items, but didn't win any
At least I helped raise the price a little |
Well, I'm just a little worried that you've been SO successful so quickly and have so much to do with the auction and the 12 babies and all the others that you could get behind in paperwork and the other seemingly non-important stuff.
Plus, I'd selfishly love to know how many hook-ups you've made through the forum! |
Well Ron, Since I am an Old Hormonal Drama Queen I assume you mean by Hook Up ????? I will say with out this Forum the Rescue would not have been as successful as it has been. Because We are A Independant rescue makes it harder to get started. But, I have a terrific support system with Puppy Parents too. I won't way it has been easy and we're not over the hump yet. But, It is a choice I made and will stick with it. Just a little slower pace....... Thank You So Much Ron For This Forum and Your Curious Mind...Respectfully Kaye |
When's the next auction? By that time I should have my stash back up Congratulations Kaye, it was fun! |
I am wondering why you are not a part of the Texas OES rescue? |
Yay thankyou Kaye, your auction also brought a lot of fun too, seeing who won what, this one outbidding that one, chuckles all around. Hope you are going to do this as an annual event, it was great!!
You amaze me, rescue, baby pups etc etc AND getting this auction up and running. You are a Superwomen with boundless energy And specially wonderful and most importantly it all goes to a fantastic cause |
Guest wrote: I am wondering why you are not a part of the Texas OES rescue? . Art, Sherri, Cindy and Steve are just a group that have been together for a while. We have worked saviing Sheepies together. . They do their thing and we do ours. We work with a lot of other rescues. Texas is a BIG State. Kaye |
Do you take credit cards for payment for one of your rescue dogs? |
Guest wrote: Do you take credit cards for payment for one of your rescue dogs? If a person fills out the adoption application on the webpage..The I talk to them on the phone. Then have a home check and we agree that it would be a good match..Yes I suppose they could pay the adoption fee through Pay Pal on the webpage. Kaye |
I'm not sure that even NEOESR will take a credit card for their rescue donation. I'm not sure whether the will now or not, but they only got the ability to take cards at all about 5 or 6 years ago.
Taking credit cards is an expensive thing, Guest. When you're not in it for a profit, every buck or two hurts. If you pay through PayPal and if Kaye has set up a PayPal Business account for rescue, it's going to cost her about 3% of the transaction in PayPal fees. If she had her own merchant account, there might be a monthly charge and higher fees, and restrictions on how she can accept cards (or not) over the internet or over the phone rather than in person. Paypal will allow you to make a credit card payment, if you're a PayPal member already. If you're not, I *think* Kaye can set it up to take credit card payments through PayPal even if you don't have an account there... but it WILL be through the PayPal site. |
PayPal is not the same as a Mastercard or Visa. How else does a person pay for your rescue animals? |
Guest, I really don't want to respond for Kaye, but I know for a fact that PayPal can be set up to take your Mastercard, Visa or Discover (at least) to complete a transaction. They simply act as a middleman for the transaction (a gateway) if you don't have a PayPal account.
At least that's one way it can be set up. |
Guest wrote: PayPal is not the same as a Mastercard or Visa. How else does a person pay for your rescue animals? I have a Business Pay Pal account set up for the Second Chance OES Rescue. We are also set up with Mission Fish which is the non profit devision of ebay. Depending on if you have a Pay Pal Account set up. You can use your credit card or use your bank account. So Yes the anwser to your question is you can use Master Card, Visa, Discovery or Debit Cards on Pay Pal. Hope I cleared this up a little for you. Kaye |
If I paid for a rescue dog through Pay Pal, what kind of guarantee do I get that you will actually deliver the animal?
From what I have read on Pay Pal, IF I paid your organization through Pay Pal, the receipt would say "donation". It would not say I paid for an animal. |
As it is recommended that we do on this Forum.I am going to try and have a conversation with a neighbor I don't understand what you are asking me!!!! Are you saying that if you paid for a rescue dog through Pay Pal that you wouldn't receive a Rescue Dog? Or that you would just be donating money to the rescue? There is paperwork that is filled out and signed noteh for your protection and my protection. I'm not sure if you are accusing me of something or just being curious. So If you want to Ask Me A Question I will Be More THen Glad To Answer It......Kaye |
I would think that if "guest" is truly interested in adopting one of your precious babies they should get in touch with you and chat about it. If I'm not mistaken your web site has a number they can call to talk about the adoption.
Of course there are any number of us here who will vouch for you If the "guest" is someone who just wandered onto the site I guess I can understand the concern, another site I participate in discusses almost daily the prevalance of fraud on the internet as it relates to the sale of puppies, paticularly the puppyfind.com sites etc. They may perhaps not realize that rescue is an entirely different ball game and that you are not "in it for the money" HAHAHAHAHA Of course Kay, now we all have such a vested interest in these wonderful little miracles mabe we should set up an adoption panel to make sure WE ALL APPROVE of the new parents (just kidding) |
Yes, I am VERY concerned about doing business like this on the internet. I have heard horror stories about people who have purchased an animal and paid for it with Pay Pal and they did not receive their animal.
What type of guarantee do you have that says you will deliver/ship an animal to the person who purchased it? |
I really think this conversation would be better held in private between the two of you.
Unless you have information to the contrary, Kaye has been on this very public forum for quite a while, and we've never heard back from anyone that there has been a problem with a "transaction". Unless you think this whole forum is part of a global conspiracy to sucker people for a couple of hundred bucks? |
Dear Guest:
I think perhaps you are misunderstanding Kayes mission. She does not "sell" sheepies. She is a rescue organization out to match abandoned puppies with people willing to give them "furever" homes. Her rescue is well know and well organized and "fraud" or "cheating" someone is not part of the equation. Below is the web address for her rescue. http://www.secondchanceoesrescue.com/ If you go to the website you will see a link for "contact us" click on that link and it will take you to a phone number. I suspect Kaye will be glad to discuss the rescue process with you. |
Looks to me like Kaye is not allowed to answer. |
Um, she's allowed to answer, she is just a little busier than some of us on this forum and doesn't get to answer posts as often. Tasker's Mom was just trying to explain to you what Kaye does... |
Guest wrote: Looks to me like Kaye is not allowed to answer.
SO JUST EXACTLY WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM????????????????????? Your line of questioning is starting to sound like harrassment. I for one am offended. I think very highly of Kaye and of what she does. She should not have to "defend" her wonderful program against people who don't even identify themselves. I and others are nicely trying to explain the operation to you. If you don't like the way it works, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. |
I will be happy to go someplace else. Your forum sounds like a "click" and nobody from the outside is allowed in to ask normal questions. |
I apologize for being harsh. If you truly have sincere questins anyone would be glad to answer them. I think that is what we are trying to do. Ask away. It just appeared you were "pulling strings". My apologies. |
Guest wrote: I will be happy to go someplace else. Your forum sounds like a "click" and nobody from the outside is allowed in to ask normal questions. Normal questions? You have repeatedly asked the same question over and over about what form of payment will be taken and what kind of a receipt you'll get for your "purchase" of a dog.
Everyone has tried to answer your questions with patience and with tact. Your responses have been increasingly abusive. If you think answering your questions to the best of our abilities makes us a clique, I guess you're correct. Rescue is difficult enough without having to deal with abusive "customers" looking for a bargain. |
I'm so sorry I don't have time to set at the computer all day, I happened to be at the Drs Office with My Little Brain Damaged Husband that has Cancer. They were scheduling 2 more tests before stating the radiation then stomach surgery. Just a Little Important. I run a Non Profit 501 c 3 Rescue Org..I am raising a liter of 4 week old REscue Babies. I am still having an auction to make money to try and take care of the Rescue Babies .Also setting up a Rescue Store on ebay to pay the bills.. I choose this way to support the Rescue Babies this way rather then to run around with My Hand Out Begging For Money. I don't know what your problem is???? Maybe I have offended you in someway sometime. Unless you have been ripped off or just have a negative attitude toward rescue. But, that is no excuse for Hateful Remarks towards people only trying to explain something to you. I have a telephone # 325-893-5139. IF you want to talk to me.... Ask Me The Questions and give me a little time to do the other 20 things I have going on. Kaye |
I guess My Brain { or what is left of it } wasn't working right. I think maybe what GUEST was implying was that I would except the money on Pay Pal for the Rescue Baby and then not deliver. Then all they had to go by was a $250.00 donation to Second Chance OE Rescue. Evediendly they don't have a Pay Pal account because you state what the money is for. Now I understand!!!!! I would to GUEST that they contact OESCA Breeder Referral and get a puppy from a Good Breeder not a Rescue Baby......Kaye |
To add to all of this:
I wouldn't say we are a clique, I'd say we are family. We are a large group of people from very different backgrounds, different geographic locations and with different ideas about life. We are however fiercely loyal to those who have proved themselves to be good hearted, worthy people. These people we have made part of our daily lives! Many of us can't wait to come here on a daily basis (some more than others!) and share our stories and experiences, our heartbreak and our joy. When someone comes running in here with a chip on their shoulder and in an accusatory manner makes irrational demands from one of our own you are damn right that we will defend them!!! You have received polite and informed answers to your questions along with resources where you can find out more information if you feel your needs haven't been met. Do you have any idea what it takes to get NonProfit status? Second Chance Rescue has proved itself to the government as well as us. These dogs are not commerce or business, they are loving family members just waiting to meet the right people so they can live their lives out in peace and happiness. If you are viewing them as product or merchandise you need to reexamine why you even want an animal before someone like Kaye has to step in and find a home for the "product" that you bought and are now unhappy with. This isn't Kmart and there aren't any blue light specials or exchanges. As for Paypal and credit cards being used as payment, GOOD!!! I for one do not carry cash on a regular basis and I haven't written a paper check in years. This is a sign of the times, catch up. Besides, using your credit card affords extra purchase protection for you!!! Even if the subject line says "donation" you would have a written contract from the Rescue as paperwork to back-up your claims. Besides, you should have gone through extensive questioning, a background check and a home inspection long before money is exchanged. I believe that between all of us and especially Kaye's post, you have received enough of an explanation. If you have civilized and thoughtful questions, by all means stay around and ask away. If you are going to be contrite, nasty, accusatory or uncivil I can tell you a good place to go. |
If asking questions like "How else does a person pay for your rescue animals?" and "What type of guarantee do you have that says you will deliver/ship an animal to the person who purchased it?" then so be it. I am looking for a rescue sheepdog, not a bargain. I do not intend to show or breed. I am sorry for asking so many questions that have upset you. I will look elsewhere for a rescue dog. |
It is not your questions, it is your tone. If you look, many people have noted that there is a problem with how your posts are perceived. Please take a moment to look at them as we do. It is not always easy to convey your thoughts and feelings in just printed word, with no facial expression or emotion to help.
You can register here to ask the webmaster or a moderator, specific questions in the private message format, and not use that registration on the forum remaining anonymous. Take a moment to look at how many people have been helped by the rescue process. |

I'm thinking you'd be better suited for owning a pitbull |
Dramas Over! I'm pretty sure I know who Guest is. Disagreement on getting a Baby. End of Subject!!!!!!!!! Sheepie Hugs, Kaye |
Okay, now I'm confused Why would someone use Paypal to get a rescue? Isn't that for ebay auction items like the one Kaye had? I would also wonder why someone wouldn't have a check, cash, or money order as the cost isn't that much. If a dog had to be put on a charge could that person actually afford the ongoing costs associated with a dog such as vet bills and food? Just wondering. |
I use Paypal and it's connected to my bank account, no interest charges for me. As a buyer, there are no costs involved only the seller incurs costs.
Also, when you use a credit card it does afford you some protection as a buyer. If you are dissatisfied with a product or service, you can complain to your credit card company about it and they are able to stop payment and get your money back. They have more ways of protecting you and your purchases. I would be concerned about someone who HAD to charge a dog because they didn't have the available funds. What happens when they get a bad bag of dog food and need to go replace it? I remember being in college and living paycheck to paycheck. It's pretty terrifying when you don't really have any responsibilities let alone when you're responsible for another life. I'm not sure if it would be worse to live like that or to not have fuzzy buddies at all. It may be worth it to eat Top Ramen every meal in order to have enough money to take care of your animals. Then again that's how people start eating cat food too! I guess it's a pretty slippery line of logic to fall into. |
I don't know necessarily about the part about HAVING to charge the dog. I pretty much live paycheck to paycheck right now, pretty comfortably, but not with a lot of money left over, so if you add a few hundred dollars to that it would be much easier on my situation for me to be able to pay that off in 2 months, rather than somehow come up with it at once. I have enough for food, vet, groomers, toys per month, but those are smaller amounts... |
