Had two Kilos of mince meat out defrosting in morning awaiting to be turned into spaghetti Bol. later that afternoon. We were having visitors for an italian night of spaghetti, wine and garlic bread. Had to go out for awhile. Dogs left to roam the house as usual, because thought I would not be too long, so OK to do so. Well!!!! got back home about 15 minutes later and there neatly on the floor was the tray and plastic the meat HAD BEEN IN. Someone had crunched through 2 kilos of rock hard frozen meat. What an incredible doggie icy pole I then wondered who is the guilty party MMMMM the one with the evidence hanging from the beard. Well dial a pizza it was, still had our italian night but with an alteration to menu. We nicknamed Peppa "Miss Piggy", I sure if we left her in the wild her nose would sniff out food within a 100miles of her. She had this habit of vacuuming the floor, snorking along looking for the tiniest trace of a crumb on the floor. Yes she was the guilty party. She scored a face wash that day much to her dislike, (could move real quick when it came to bathtime as an elderly dog). So she now had an incredible full belly and clean face. What's a girl to do now, sleep it off, while Mum rings in a panic to re-organise things........Meanwhile Miss Piggy is snoring her head off and my blood pressure was on the rise, thank goodness for dial-a-pizza Yep she was a real character, food was her no 1 priority, from pinching entire cooked chickens cooling on the kitchen bench, to cutting her nose after sticking it in the trash bin and trying to lick what was left out of a can she sniffed out in there . To finding a rotten bird egg in the backyard, eating it then throwing it up inside YUK Funny how memories come flooding back and they were good ones too I miss her terribly but the memories are special of Miss Piggy aka Peppa and all the antics she got up too in her life with us. |

What wonderful memories |
Ah, sounds like she was a mischievous and fun girl.... |
Panda thinks that she would have been the COOLEST friend around! God bless Peppa! |
Isn't it wonderful how our precious memories can keep our past dogs in our hearts and minds forever?? What a great story, Lisa. Thanks for sharing it! |
Hi Lisa,
What a wonderful girl your Peppa was! a I'm glad memories of her are now replaced with those of happier days. She sounded like quite the mischivious character! Your story of that incident was hilarious as being such a good story teller I could visualize it happening as you told the story. Hugs to you and I'm sure your Peppa and my Shaggy are probably good friends, whom are perhaps sharing a slice of pizza together. Marianne and the boys |
Wha a terrific memory of Peppa!! |
Great story!! Peppa sounds like she was a wonderful handful. I am amazed that your dogs can be so unearthly beautiful AND so downright doggie. |
