WE'RE BACK!!!! That was the most emotional 2 days of my entire life and I thought my wedding made me nuts! I had butterflies in my stomach every 5 minutes from nervousness and excitement. Such a strange feeling. We are both tired and my body is very achy from the drive and from bending a lot. Thank goodness I'm getting a massage on Tuesday. Here's the synopsis of our wonderful journey: Packed up the car and left at about 10:30AM CST. Got on the tollway and realized we forgot the camera. Of course, it was my fault somehow . Couldn't continue driving without the camera and couldn't download disposable for everyone! And of course, I remembered the checkbook when we got to Indiana. Had to go to ATM twice to get Geri a down payment. I felt like such an idiot. If she didn't know me, she'd think we were so irresponsible. There was a lot of construction getting from the IL to IN borders. Traffic wasn't exactly light the rest of the way either. We drove into BFUSA (hope you know what that means) or Timbuctu. The drive off the highway to her house was very hilly and the road to her house was unpaved but very pretty. Very country which we're not used to since we're Chicago suburbanites. We pulled into Geri's driveway at around 6PM CST, talked for a moment, then went to the basement to see 11 heads popping out of the huge pen . It was an amazing and surreal sight to see them all. How were we every to pick just one?! Well, we did. it turns out that she may have counted the sexes incorrectly. We picked from 4 boys which made it just a little bit easier than the 6 we initially thought. We took all 4 boys out (seemed we kept picking up the girls a million times). 2 boys were whiteheads and a little bit more fiesty and mounting the other pups, one was a beautiful large pup who seemed to be more of a lump, and then Fozzie with two black ears. I wasn't sure about him at first int he basement as he seemed more curious than the others. However, he paid more attention to us on his rounds and responded better to us with our little tests (submitted when rolled over, made eye contact briefly, let us pet him without biting, I got kisses...). Steve was leaning towards the lumpy one but we were in agreement once we got the 2 boys (Fozzie & Lump) up to the kitchen. We left, went to a family type restaurant for dinner that had GREAT cornbread. Yummy! Checked into the Fairfield Inn and passed out. Woke up, ate at the hotel, and went to get our Baby! He was so quiet on the drove home. He spent most of the time in my lap, but managed to get himself situated on the leather armrest for part of the trip. I think the sun was in his face as he was rather persistent in getting up there. We had pillows and towels on the back floor so he wouldn't slide through. So cute! We put one of those smaller fold up travel crates in our bedroom and the large metal crate in the living room for now. Steve will be moving it to the lower level. He slept from 11:00-4:30am without making a peep. He has also gone in and out of his crates throughout the day today to play, sleep, eat. He sleeps A LOT!!! That's normal, right? He has only had 2 tiny piddles which I caught him in the act & rushed out. Fozzie appears to be a good boy during his 24 hours here. Annie on the other hand....she did snap at him twice when he had one of her stuffies & outside when he was eating leaves. However, there were moments today that we had them together and everything was okay. One of us has been around them at all times. That is why we are pooped watching their every move. I do hope it isn't always like this. Annie did let him kiss her back paws and she did try to play with him the last time we went out. I was having trouble getting him back in the house after potty as he wanted to play. Annie came back outside, picked up a rubber ball (she hasn't touched it ever despite it being outside), circled him, and tried to get hin to follow. Foz didn't know what to do. I hope this is a sign of things to come with them getting along. Otherwise Steve and I will be in separate rooms with one of them for the next 4-5 yrs. Well, I'll check to see if my pictures have been uploaded and you can see this beautiful baby for yourself! He looks like a little stuffed animal and sounds like a chimpanzee. _________________ All the best, Stacy |

He's so sweet. I love him! Normally I'd say I want to steal him and take him home with me but since I have my own giant puppy now, I've got more than I can handle! |
He is so cute!!! I love the picture with Annie! I think snapping is ok -- doesn't mean she will hurt him -- she's may just be setting down some rules (which all puppies need). I can't wait for more as this develops. I believe it when you say it is exhausting. . .
Congratulations!! |
Congratulations!!! he is soooo cute. The picture with Annie is priceless.. big and small... you will have to get a baby "bucket hat" to put on him and take a picture of them in hats...

AWWWW!!! What a cutie! Congrats on Fozzie!!! So many new babies on the forum! You can definitely tell that it is SPRING! Baby puppies everywhere
I wish I was closer Then Fozzie could come over for a play date with Pip!!!! |
The Foz is so small and cute!!! I wish I were closer, Id come over to play! |
Congrats!! Fozzie is very cute.
I think after a couple weeks Annie and Fozzie will adjust to eachother. It is a big change for both, and cranky moments are bound to happen. Amanda |
Puppy!!!!
Just remember these days when they are tiny and cute. It'll help whenever the inevitable annoyances come along!!!!! |
The proud sister picture is precious! I love it. I'm so happy for you. Please tell us about all your adventures. I like knowing what it's like having two oes' in a house! |
Last night was a little different, but we still got some sleep. Foz woke up about an hour after bedtime. Daddy took him out for pee and poop Woke up again at about 6:30 and Dad took him out again for pee. Steve has been so great with him and I like listening to him speak softly too him. Very cute! Only thing is that he hates Foz's puppy breath. Thinks it smells like a butt and prefers Annie's breath over his .
He's such a good boy! No accidents in the house yet today. Foz is now trying out his new collar and leash. Scratching a lot but being a good boy without a lot of chewing the leash. I don't want to speak too soon, but Annie has been GREAT today! She slept by Foz's crate in the bedroom (with butt to him). Very kind to him outside as well..trying to get him to play and not stepping on him. It was very funny watching my 80 lb OES jump over the little guy like an ungraceful bunny rabbit . I was praying she wouldn't smoosh him. Hope it stays this way! |
Sounds like things are going great so far! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it continues!
How cute is it when a man sweet-talks a little pup? These creatures can turn ANYONE into their slave! |
HE IS SO CUTE!!!!
