Anyone here rescue a dog from New Brunswick?
I wanted to see if anyone here has adopted one of the dogs from New Brunswick- in Dec there were 65 dogs seized, and I have a 1yr old female. I wanted to see how the others were making out? any health issues? what have you done that has helped? -s |

Is this roll call? 
Dixie is here. She is the grey OES in my avatar. She was in a boarding kennel for the first few weeks after the seizure, then at the SPCA for 10 days, then flown out to me in Ontario the first week of February. ....health issues? Where do we start? 
What are we doing about them? A lot of different things.....I think tomorrow is the day she is getting shaved. Her skin is awful, and hard to monitor any progress unless we can see it, so off with the fur....We have stock-piled a while bunch of T-shirts for her to wear. One of them is pink, so we will keep it for special occasions. |

I think I saw her when I went to the Kennel to get Finn!! I have a pic ... but can't figure out how to add it to this text. Finn had both eyes operated on- the lower lids rolled in, and she had generalized demodex- and very low immune system, so she gets sores that don't heal and get infected... She is on pen. twice a day and advantage multi... the vets are quite concerned over her health - but are hopefull where we have only had her 2 months- and she is gaining weight and is making progress... She is in good spirits and our 11 yr old pup Balou and her get along great. I met someone yesterday who adopted a dog from there 2 yrs ago- that pup was in very bad shape- but now he is doing very well- so that is hopeful -s[/img] |

Same here. Plus we suspect allergies, so grain-free food, too. Antihistimine to ease the scratching and some spray on her sores to assist the healing and ease the scratching. Soralan for ear infections as we suspect a yeast infection. She is very high maintence. Her name was Lil Deb, and if you have a picture of her from the kennel that's be nice to have. I did see the one that was on the website, though, if that was the same one you have. Here she is when we first got her.

Murphy, Finn and Balou meet yesterday at the park.. (secretly.. I think they were laughing at Murphy's haircut, hehehe). Both Finn and Balou are georgous dogs..and they have the most wonderful looking TAILS.. with white tips on the ends.... Finn is a little bundle of energy.. and very well behaved.. Murphy is the spitting image of Balou.. now I have some idea of what Murphy will look like when he gets older. All played very well together and hopefully, we can hook-up again. I am a bad Mommy.. I took my camera, but I didn't take any pictures.. Hopefully, Sandy will share with me (hint, hint) Bren, Dud and Murphy |

| I don't think that is my Dixie. Dixie's white on her face stops right at the brow. Across the top of her head it is all grey, no white at all, so she looks like she is wearing white goggles. And her front paws are white up to the knees.
That and the fact that she was skin and bones when I got her (almost 15 pouds underweight) and covered with large, red, scaley patches of skin. Where the patches were the hair is all grown back in black. Looks a lot like, her , though. Poor baby, I just feel for them all. |
| I adopted a 10 year old female from that rescue - Gertie. I am so pleased to have finally got caught up with some of the people that opened their heart and homes to such special dogs
I would love to meet some of Gert's relatives, as I sure she would as well. Please feel free to PM me and perhaps we can catch up at a local park l. |
