Cat lovers...HELP!

We are having a problem with our Siamese cat, Khobi, and I was wondering if any of you can figure out what's going on.

Khobi sleeps with us. About 2 months ago he started doing something odd, even for Khobi.

Every morning, between 4:15 and 4:30 am he goes downstairs and starts meowing. Over, and over.....until I yell KHOBI STOP!!!!! Then he stops and comes back to bed.

What the heck? Its every morning. At first I thought maybe that's when the birds start chirping, but I think that's too early.

Any ideas?

Is he neutered? Maybe another cat in the neighborhood comes by at that time of night. Does he have a litter box or go outside? Maybe he wants to go out (is he indoor or outdoor or both)?

My cats do odd things for a while and then seem to go back to not doing odd things. Right now one of them is in a 'knock everything off the shelf in the bedroom at 4am' kind of odd phase. Last night I had to get up and take off everything from the shelf and put it in a drawer!

Can you close the door to your bedroom for a few nights so he can't go downstairs?
Is Khobi "fixed"? If not maybe that there is a "friend" outside that Khobi wants to "play" with........if Khobi is "fixed" maybe he/she just wants to go out for a bit to do "kitty things".......

Samson (my boy kitty) is "fixed" but he does the same thing, he will go to the door and "scream" early in the morning and in the evening, wanting out to prowl for a few! He never goes far, usually just in the yard but, he has to have his own time to just be a kitty and do kitty things..................used to scare me to let him out (he was in doors for many years) but I had no choice, he would scream so loud and would not shut up, so out he went and now we are all much happier. :D

Upside, he doesn't like the litter box anymore, he runs out the door with the dogs to potty and comes back in with them  and he always brings me "gifts" when he comes back from "kitty time", they maybe missing legs or tails.......but they are still gifts............ 8O

Hope it works out for you........
Khobi is neutered. He's 12 years old, and has always been an indoor cat. If there is cat in the neighborhood that's in heat, even though he's neutered, would he still react this way?

He's in very good health and always has a clean kitty box. He also lives with his friend, Leo, who doesn't do this crazy meowing.

I have no idea what to tell you! Sam, was indoors for a few years then suddenly he wanted out, he has Stormie (our girl kitty) to pal around with and like you said, she never does the screaming........but he just decided one day that he was happier to come and go................
PS. Sam is fixed too and I clean the boxes 2xs a day, so I don't really know how much that has to do with it..................I think maybe he just wants a change of pase for some reason, kinda like us.............
We had the same thing happen to us about the same time in the morning. Very annoying meowing. We would throw pillows at him to get him to be quiet because it was that annoying. Didn't think any big deal about it, thinking he just wanted to go outside, but when I mentioned it to the vet they did blood work and it turned out to be hyper-thyroidism.

Very common in cats, especially older ones. I would definitely take him in to get him checked out. Our cat is on a daily pill and he went back to being his same old self. Another sympton is weight loss, which I didn't notice outright but he did lose a few pounds too.
Firstly, I would say probably just bored. LOL
Other than that though, maybe a vet check is in order because it could be a UTI or urinary crystals or kidney stones. Quite common in male cats, and that is usually the first symptom noticed by two leggeds, an unexplicable howling at an odd time.
Is he on a low ash, low magnesium food?
He's on dry One senior cat food. I'm not sure of the make up of it. I'll check when I get home.

Boredom could be part of it. He sleeps all day. Maybe he's just ready to play!

There isn't anything going on hehe. Since you have a Siamese cat, you should get used to him being "talkative" - as that is pretty much the breed's calling card. If you went to a cat forum and ask Siamese owners - they would definitly tell you "When aren't they meowing?" Their meowing is like OES's herding - it's what they do.

My two cats, Kiley and Halifax are Himalayans - which are basically Persians and Siamese mixed together. Himalayans often meow much like a Siamese - and believe me - they love talking up a storm. They like caterwalling (sp?) - especially at night if they thing they see something that they find interesting. If Kiley thinks he sees a bug on the ceiling he'll scream at it too.

It's just something to get used to. It's like how our dogs bark at night if they hear someone within 8 miles of the house. :P It's startling at first - but you get used to it.
I Have A Siamese Cat Of My Own He Is So Hiporeactive. He Loves Going Outside We Cant Keep Him In The House. But He Is Very Loving. At Times He
Is So Calm And Vilacesd In Bed. He Meows Loud And Annoying. You Cant Controll Him From Doing That He Is A Siamese, But If He Just Started Doing This Recentley At 4 In The Morning. He Could Be telling You Somethings Wrong Or Somethings Freaking Him Out. Try Taking Him To The Vet.
