My girls were fine, and then Dancer and Sky had loose stools bordering on diarreah again the other day. I had tried everything the last time, nothing seemed to work. This time I gave each of the girls a pedigree denta stix and the poops firmed up and have been fine ever since. They are made almost entirely of rice flour, so that explains it.... LOL Just thought I'd mention it, however just a word of caution to anyone who wants to try it, please supervise your dog while he or she is eating one of these. My dogs do devour them fairly quickly, and have never had a problem, but you never know. Denta stix do seem to disolve more thoroughly once chewed than other treats of this nature, but still. Anyway, I'm thrilled! |

my dogs love dentastix!
another story... a customer at work gives her dog one every day. Its teeth were so bad the vet thought he'd have to pull them all. She tried the dentastix as a last resort and after one month the vet was happy to announce her poochie could keep all his toothies! She buys them religiously and his teeth look a lot better, including his gums! |
great post stacey and a life saver or ( poop saver) :LOL |
Good tip Stacey! Glad to hear things are firming up! I also celebrated solid poop today. |
Great tip
Yay for all the solid ones |
Something just doesn't sound right to hear "Yay for Solid Ones" |
LOL... after weeks of loose poops or diarreah on and off, I was even thrilled that the first solid poop was on my kitchen floor! I didn't care where it was, just that it was SOLID! LOL |
Do you suppose Pedigree DentaStix and DentaBone have the same contents?
We'd like to keep them on hand for those loose days. Thanks. |
Boiled rice works well - personally anything by Pedigree chum makes Ollie have a really bad tummy - since we got him off it he's like a new dog |

We'd like to keep them on hand for those loose days. Thanks. I do think the denta bones are made of similar ingedients, however, because they are larger, and the shape is different I think I feel safer with the denta stix. |

Just rice didn't work for us... Pedigree food itself is not one of the higher quality foods, but the denta stix and denta bones are not made of the same ingedients as their food so their treats may not bother Ollie. |

Ha ha, I always get excited when Frank's poops are solid! I think my admittance to the wacky farm will be sooner than anticipated... |
My Shepard has been on Dentistixs for 6 years and ad wonrd of caution. His teeth are horrible as a result. Yes Bad Bad Tartar I took him off and the teeth are noticably better in days. Would have never guessed that wthe one thing to help his teeth were really hurting them. He's good now! |

Some dogs will have bad teeth with or without things like that. I'm not sure that they would be the cause of a worse situation more than not helping an existing one. |
