NEED ADVICE ABOUT ADOPTING ANOTHER OES.........PLEASE

HI ALL.................EVERYONE GAVE ME SUCH GREAT ADVICE ON MY GIRL BROOKLYN AND US WATCHING T.V TOGETHER THAT I AM BACK WITH ANOTHER QUESTION.

I AM WANTING TO ADOPT ANOTHER OES. I JUST DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD GO OLDER OR YOUNGER?

BROOKLYN HAS SO MUCH ENERGY,WOULD IT BE BETTER TO GET HER A BROTHER OR SISTER WHO COULD KEEP UP,OR WHO WILL TEACH HER TO CALM DOWN AND TAKE IT SLOW ??????????

I HAVE SEEN SOME POST ON OES NEEDING HOMES FROM THIS FORUM AND ARE WAITING TO SEE IF THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR NEW FOREVER HOMES,BUT I WOULD LOVE SOME ADVICE.

THANKS :P ............

How old is Brooklyn? Her age would probably be part of determining what age dog you might want to get.

Sometimes an older dog will not want to be bothered by the younger or more energetic dog. So if you went older, I would make sure that it can tolerate the energy level from Brooklyn.
I wouldn't worry so much about age, as compatibility.
BROOKLYN IS 9 MONTHS OLD .

SHE LOVES OTHER DOGS, I TAKE HER TO PETSMART AND DOGGIE PARKS AND SHE JUST WANTS TO PLAY WITH EVERY DOG SHE CAN.

I GUESS YOU ARE RIGHT , AGE IS NOT GOING TO BE THE FACTOR,IT IS GOING TO BE WHO WILL WANT TO LIVE WITH A 9 MONTH OLD PLAYFULL BROOKLYN..........

THANKS.............
A dog a few months younger would be fine. But you realize it's twice the work for you. Two young, energetic dogs in the house. I'd probably go with a male just to eliminate the two bitch syndrome.

But really think about this. Brooklyn is just being a 9 month old dog....full of energy and testing you about everything. The doggie play park might be best for now.......then in about 8-12 months look into another dog
How much energy YOU have may be the determining factor :)
I HAVE LOTS OF ENERGY........... ILOVE TO PLAY WITH MY PETS.
IF I AM NOT TEACHING MY BLUE AND GOLD MACAW TO ROLL OVER AND BARK LIKE A DOG, I AM PLAYING WITH BROOKLYN .

I JUST LOVE MY KIDS! (MY DAUGHTER IS 17 AND THINKS I AM NUTS BUT I HAVE ALWAYS CALLED MY PETS MY KIDS ... LOL...)

:D :D :D
Both times when we've added another dog the new dog has been younger.
That's what's worked out for us. When we adopted Copper it just worked out that way, I didn't go intentionally looking for a younger dog but just a rescue close by ( another state instead of across the country  ) and he was just meant for us. Once you start looking the one meant for you has a way of coming out of the woodwork. And sometimes when you're not even looking, they come out of the woodwork.
