I just posted some new pictures of Odin, hopefully they'll be approved and up soon. He turned 1 on January 28th! A few weeks ago he finished his beginner's obedience class. At first he was really nervous but he slowly started to do better at heeling. Heeling was probably the hardest thing for him. He would put on his brakes when I tried to do that. He's very good at sitting, so-so at staying. (Good some days, not so good others) Pretty good at the come command. And for the last day we had to teach our dogs a trick. Since he already put his paw up a lot, I taught him to shake. But then at that lesson my mom decided to come and sit off to the side. Unfortunately when it came time for him to do his trick he was too distracted by her to do it. I'm signing him up for advanced training class starting in late April. But now I know she can't come along. He does so much better in training classes without either of my parents there to distract him. And in other news we took him to the groomer and he had to get shaved. He got all matted and he will NOT let me brush them out. In fact, there is little in that department he will let me do. He does enjoy regular brushing, but not de-matting. He won't let us trim his nails and hates having his ears cleaned. The only thing he likes is when we use the teeth wipes cause they taste minty! But it's a good thing it's nearly spring now so he won't be too cold. |
