Blood in urine

Luke has had a slight amount of blood in his urine, it's a light pink color. I don't want to be paranoid but I'm thinking prostrate or infection. I'll be taking him to the vet Saturday morning if it continues, is there something else that could cause this? I'm trying real hard not to worry, but is this a sign of some type of cancer?

It's got to be hard not to worry after what you've just been through with Beau. Do you have to wait until Saturday to take him to the vet?
Not to sound dumb, but could he have gotten into any beets? I know they can make urine turn pinkish...Just trying to think of non upseting causes...

:) Thanks, I would be thrilled if it was from beets.

I won't be home until Friday night, if it gets worse my husband will take him, he doesn't panic as fast as I do
I would definitely get it checked asap...
It may be as minor as a urinary tract infection, and even something like crystals in the urine or kidney stones are not usually life threatening but are excruciatingly painful so I wouldn't wait.
Hope it clears up quickly :)
Take a fresh urine sample to the vet's before Saturday. That way the test can be done and save some time.
WHEW, LUKE IS FINE :clappurple:
My husband called and told me he followed him around every time he went out and held white paper towels under him while he peed  All clear, no pink or red.
That's good but I would still check again his first morning pee.... that is when it will show up the most.
I hope it was nothing and that it's over with.
Tell Luke to knock it off and take a clean sample to the vet. The test won't cost much and the hubby can just drop it off and you can call to check on it. If nothing else it'll give you piece of mind.
Yes, definitely agree about still seeing the vet. They can tell if his urine has high crystal content by tests and give him some meds to break them up. Our female was treated for this just recently and so was our cat.
Sending hugs for Luke. I agree with all the others take a sample to the vet just to check and be on the safe side.
Stones or crystals can cause blood in the urine when they try and pass though, even if they are just in the bladder. Also check out kidney function. Either was it is best to just do a quick urinalysis at the vets.
Good luck with Luke, I'm glad the blood has cleared up and I hope the vet gives him a clean bill of health.
Glad Luke is fine!

I have to laugh at the things we think are normal. This is something I could see myself doing no problem. HAHAHA
