Staining

Stella is only 11 weeks and already she has major discoloration of her white fur on her face under her eyes, in her ears and around mouth, due to tears, food and moisture. I know that this is inevitable, but I am wondering if there is anything I can do to lessen this problem. I'm not too keen on the idea of using that topical product they sell in pet stores for this.

For her, since she is still so little...I would use dove facial cloths, just get wet.....Im not sure its the perfect solution, but it does work for Panda after dinner....
Try changing her water as often as possible. That's an easy way to cut down on a lot of the beard staining.

I agree with that! :P
changing water is a good suggestion but there are also some other options if you want to take a search around the forum. The discoloring/tea stain on a chin is from saliva enzymes, not from a particular food brand.
How bout in the ears? I think that sounds so unusual, but the vet says she is fine.
I always only put a little water at a time in her huge bowl. So her face isn't dunking into a pool of water. That's helped tremendously. Of course, I'm always home though... and have time to always notice when she wants/needs more water. Then I wipe her mouth with paper towels. very single time. Even after she eats, which I handfeed every kibble ...two at a time... (mostly because she has to perform an assortment of tricks for each bite) she's not spoiled though. 8O ;)

Using a stainless steel bowl also helps with staining.

The product "eye envy" works great at making stains go white too.
My parent's sheepdog has staining in the ears...it doesn't bother them, though! lol
