It's for the extra oxygen. Years ago there was a "special product" sold to reduce the thatch in your lawn.........hydrogen peroxide at an 800% increase in cost. Benefits were hard to measure.
Seed germination for "common" seeds is really a matter of moisture and warmth (sometimes sunlight). The tougher seeds need scarification (physical or chemical scarring) or stratification (special moisture and temperature conditions). So if you want to start seeds with it, fine. Is it beneficial....probably not measureable except to the drug store who sells the hydrogen peroxide. |

Actually very good. Because you have longer summer daylight hours, gardens do well. Granted you will have to become creative in getting plants started in cold spring temps, but that's why gardeners for centuries have used cold frames, etc. Now you aren't going to be able to grow long maturing vegetables that take over 100 days to ripen, but your thumb can become rather green up there. |
