that was great~~~~~~~~~
i wish i could have a show dog one day... |
Thanks, enjoyed the slides. Why do they fluff up the back end fur towards the front? And why does some of the fur at the necks appear flat to the neck? Just trying to learn.
Those are some beautiful dogs. |
Thanks for the website! I passed it along to my other sheepie friends! |
They fluff the bottoms out and forward to make them appear big & rounded to balance the backend out with the big boofy heads. The necks usually are striped out and flatened to show off the dogs long necks. It is all a matter of making the whole outline of the dog look balanced. Big Head and Big Rump and lovely long neck. Also in the UK, Europe and Australia, they don't scissor the dog as much to shape it so the dogs have more longer coats and brushing coats forward & outwards and fluffing out the head coat is the way they are presented for the showring.
Personally I like them ala natural, but showing you have to turn a dog out that way for the ring to emphasise certain points in the breed standard. |
love the site love the picture... aww wish it was this thursday.. I really enjoyed it...
