I had Drake with me while I was taking a bath the other night and I put Nora Jones in and he did not like it at all. To think about Drake hates the sur-round sound on our TV too. Boy what is Drake going to do when my kids become teens? Could be interesting. |
Abbi doesn't even cock her head anymore. Only when the subwoofer comes on does she even comment. Usually she wants outside or she covers her ears with her paws.
I think as they get older the dogs realize radio and tv isn't "real". At least that what's happenned with Abbi. Enjoy thier naive youth. They grow up faster than kids do ... |
Pisco can sleep right thru with the stereo blasting beside him.....only if I sing along will he look at me as if I `ve gone bananas....
and even once I was drilling on the wall to hang up some pics and there he was moving his head from side to side....looking at me...he never barks..at nothing...the only times he does it is when he is playing. |
Shaggy used to bark at Vanna White on Wheel of Fortune - the only time he ever paid attention to the tv. He would watch her walk back and forth turning letters. He grew out of it - I think it was a puppy crush.
He has never paid attention to music (I think he's immune, I have a teenage daughter and music is always on), but he loves it when I sing to him. I sing awful, but I guess to him, its just extra attention focused on him. |
Well as you can see my Rosie girl was an avid TV watcher. ALL THE TIME! Right til the end. I could never leave the TV on when I left for fear she might hurt herself. She would get really excited. Once there was a Purina commercial on with a bunch of puppies exiting a door heading to the right. Our bedroom wall was right next to the TV on the right and sure enough my smart little girl went running into the bedroom looking for the puppies, thinking that is where they were headed. It didn't have to be animals but she was definitely fond of them. A friend was staying here once and put in Dances with Wolves to watch and warned me when I got home never to watch that movie with Rosie especially during the Buffalo stampede. I would even take her to the drive-in and she would sit there and eat popcorn and watch for the first hour or so but like a typical kid would eventually fall asleep until we left.
I can listen to one of our TV channels on the radio in my car and whenever she was in the car and this one commercial came on, that head of hers would cock to the left and right. It had the squeak sound of her favorite toy fish "Fletch" and then she'd start looking around the back seat for it. Like I've said before about her, she always made me laugh. |
Well I will add one more musical dislikes of Drakes! As some of you know it was my sons birthday last week. Well when we sang Happy Birthday in our off key voices Drake began to howl and bark. I would like to think Drake was singing along (that would be so sweet) but I think the sound of our voices hurt his ears I guess we all know not to quit our day jobs |
