Durkee-Mower issued a statement: “Williams-Sonoma has no right to trade on our hard-earned reputation with their so-called Fluffernutter confection.” http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11728918/ I am trembling at the thought of having to change our ranking system! |
|
Be very very quiet and the lawyers won't find us. Or put a "TM" after the Fluffernutter ranking. |
I just shared the shocking news with my early morning class, they agree it's a burning issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Williams-Sonoma, the highest priced kitchen store in the world ought to be ashamed of themselves!!!!!!! |
Uh oh Ron... Hopefully the good people of the marshmellow world will not mind us applying their trademarked name to our membership rankings... Otherwise, we're in deep doodoo!
Watch out William Sonoma- or the marshmellow peopple are going to get you, their packaging dept. ought to know better!!!! |
Does this mean I have to quit calling Jack the "Fluffernutter?" Or do I have to plaster a label on him first?
Since you are not getting monetary rewards from this, Ron, and your pockets aren't as deep as Williams Sonoma, I think you are safe..... for awhile. |
I'm not sure the improper use of a trademark has much to do with monetary gain, I think it has everything to do with brand confusion.
I hope that no consumers were confused or any of our dogs were confused with the actual Fluffernutter trademark for Marshmallow Fluff delicacies. Although when they are fluffernutters with a small "f", I still wanna gobble them up! Oh no, there MAY be confusion! |

Interesting idea, Ginny!
Perhaps a picture of a very fluffy puppy licking out of a jar of Fluff? |
First you spread, spread, spread
Your bread with peanut butter Add marshmallow Fluff And have a FLUFFERNUTTER! I can eat Fluff straight out of the jar! |
Until this post, I didn't even know what a fluffernutter was. |

Tammy-I didn't know either . Guess that makes us both deprived. |

BLESS YOUR HEARTS!!!!!!!!!! Fluffernutter all around!!!! |
Saved for posterity, Ed:
|
Is this to easily incriminate Ed? To prove he was a fluffernutter when the controversy was happening? |
Betsy and I are also "fluffernutters". and I also had no idea what it was.
Now I must buy some if I find some. This is actually good advertiseing for them. Maybe they should be paying Ron. |

You just have to enter LOTS of new posts til you get yourself out to the "Fluffernutter" catagory and out of danger I can't believe the number of fluffernutter deprived childhoods we appear to have here, it is a TRAVESTY I tell ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps we should start a support group, I just can't imagine growing up without know the joy of a fluffernutter sandwhich!!!! I preferred mine with bananas!!! |
I'm not really a big fan of marshmellows, so I'm not even sure I'd like it. But, it's nice to know what it is! |
I'd heard of fluffernutter, but didn't really know what it was. Turns out it was something like what I thought it was...
I mostly thought in the forum's case it meant a nutty, fluffy dog! |
Hmmm, we don't have that here either. Tho we do have each thing separately. Must try that...kinda like a peanut butter smores then??? |
Don't marshmallows come in a bag? How would you roast on flutternutter on a stick |

this fabulous 50's product here's the site........... http://www.marshmallowfluff.com/ A fluffernutter was a favorite lunch treat! Let alone the smooth fudge you could make with it! Or the rice krispie treats Those were Happy Days! Thanks Ron! |

So for all of those who have not had this delicacy, GET THEE TO THE GROCERY STORE |
Without looking at the ingredients list, Ginny, wouldn't fluff be made with hydrogenated oils? |
hahahaha...Ron, I think you got her! |
Well, there ya go, I'm wrong again. Quote: What is Fluff made from? Corn syrup, sugar syrup, vanilla flavor, and egg white. There are no artificial preservatives, stabilizers, emulsifiers, or colorings in Marshmallow Fluff. |
I checked the "contact us" on thier website and no Canadian provinces show up. Might be only available in the U.S. |
personally, I find the stuff gross....except for rice crispy treats.....my sister makes peanut butter and fluffernutter sandwiches for the boys...yuck....Id rather have creamcheese and jelly sandies myself |
Darcy,
Joan's friend in Arizona (Phoenix) has told her it's not available there. Are you able to get it and if so, where? Thanks! |
I dont know...i dont like it....but my sis who lives in the south is able to get it and it was available in MI too.....want lisa to send Joans friend some? |
According to the "Fluff Finder", Marshmallow Fluff is carried by "Bashas'", and accrding to their website, there's one in Phoenix.
Are they a good supermarket? |
I've been in class all day, but my guess would have been SUGAR PURE SUGAR |
yeah bashas is a decent grocery store and they are all over the valley |
Never heard of the stuff. I thought it was a word Ron made up. |
I don't think it had ever been applied to sheepdogs before... so at least that's somwhat original if not interesting. |
