what do you have?? and why |
|
Comcast beccause it the only cable company in our area. |
I have Comcast, the monthly rate is up to $105 without internet Up north we had a dish, I cancelled it because it went to $100 a month and I never watched it, plus half the time it didn't work. So now I have a choice of 3 channels, 2 of which are the same |
I have Direct TV. I thought about getting Dish Network becuase they are cheaper, but only if you are willing to cut animal planet . . . not me!! We've been very happy with our service so far. |
I forgot what it is we have, but we get cable through the phone line. I HATE IT!!!!! I heard it's supposed to be better but what I've experienced is...
right when something very important is going to happen while watching your favorite show........ the tv pauses for a few seconds so you totally miss it. It's like the feed has to catch up or had too much traffic or something. It happens at least once every hour and after living here for 3 months ...I'm about to lose my mind. It's the only thing available where I'm located (a little ways outside of the big town). |
I'm happy with Cogeco. We had a rate increase too, but I guess it's not too bad. I have digital cable with almost all the channels and movie networks, video on demand, and high speed cable internet and it comes to 110 a month including taxes. |
We have Wide Open West cable but we're lucky enough to have the option of 2 cable services to choose from in the area. I've had nothing but poor experiences with Comcast so when I switched to Wide Open West, I figured I couldn't do any worse. I turned out being pleasantly surprised. The rates are better, the cutomer service is way better and we've never had an outage-- neither cable or internet in 3 years. |
We have Dish Network for tv and Comcast for internet. I would prefer not to have Dish, since it is satellite and tends to go out when we have severe weather (and we don't have tornado sirens or anything, so I rely on the tv to tell me when to duck), but I guess it's okay. We get Animal Planet with it... |
We've had directv, dish network and cable. We're about to get cable again, because we can't get our local channels with satellite. Plus, our cable company has a special going where you can get cable, digital cable, and high-speed internet (3 mbps) for $90/mo. We're paying $50 just for our internet right now and it's the same speed.... |
We have Direct TV, we love it!
We have over 800 channels, switch back an forth between HBO and Cinnemax and Showtime... without charge, we have a sports package (I wish I could say for the hubby, but I insist), TiVo......3 boxes........bunch of stuff and it is only $85.00 a month. We live in Hurrican City (Florida) and my dish has only gone out once during the storms.......until the power goes We had Dish Network once before, the satallite would go out in every storm, (it may be the "Sunshine State" but it rains every afternoon in the Summer) so we switched to Direct TV........wooohoooo!! |
We have dish network, and really love it. Perfect reception all the time (despite all the storms and all the trees in my neighborhood... but that is the benefit of living on a river bluff I guess ) I just cancelled my movie channels cause we don't watch them enough to justify the extra 40$ a month, so our bill is down to 50$ and we still have a TON of channels... including animal planet and RFDTV (my sisters favorites!) I do wanna get DSL, we only have dial up through Juno right now, but can't find any service in my area under $45/month which is too much $$ for our budget. |
Comcast. They anger me because they are the only cable station available. And they know it! I'd drop them in a minute if there was an alternative. |
We have comcast for our phone, cable and internet. They are pricey, but much better than the last company I had.
When I lived in a rental the "community" only had one cable option called TVMax. There was a sattelite dish that received the signal, and they had a very limited lineup. Also, the feed wasn't local...so that meant that the weather channel and stuff like that didn't actually have our real local weather. Amanda |
I have Time Warner. It is ok...
We had planned on getting Direct TV... They said Local Stations were available so we had them come to install it. They installed the system, then told us...sorry no local stations are available. I told them to get their crap out of my house and give me my money back. I cannot believe they lied. The fact that they said they had local stations was the only reason I felt the price would be a good deal. I could have gotten the basic cable from Time Warner for $15 a month...but when adding together the cost of both it ended up being cheaper keeping the cable. Also more reliable. |
Everyone seems like they are fed up with cable, and its not hard to understand why. I was a long time customer of Comcast, I was so disappointed and discouraged after many attempts to get an issue fixed with no resolve. I then switched my service to DISH after purchasing our new home, and that was over 5 years ago! After being so pleased with my services, and unemployed I figured I would try and get a job there. I did (thank goodness) and I have been happily entertained and employed for a long time now. I can tell you that as far as providers go DISH is definitely the way to go. Not only are we the leader in the industry, but we have award winning customer service. TWC doesn’t ever come close to offering what it is we have, and definitely not for the price! |
We had Dish network for over 15 years, and even though we watched it less and less as years went on, it was still a great deal compared to cable. Reluctantly, we gave it up last year as we had mega trees on a ridge that kept interfering with the signal. We lost our locals, and then, a majority of our channels. Unable to cut the trees, our choice was to switch to comcast cable. Its okay. We pay about the same for less, but did bundle our internet so thats some balm. I do miss my DISH... |
Since moving to Florida, up to now if we wanted cable it would be Brighthouse whom we had a dvr with. I rarely watch a tv program that is running "live". I dvr most of the programs I like and watch them when I want and can fast forward through commercials. When we moved to this house, about a mile from our previous house, we were told that there was no Brighthouse here, only AT&T Uverse. So we went with that. What I like about the Uverse is that I can watch my DVR programs on ANY of the TVs, not just the one that the program was recorded on. Even if I've watched my DVR program halfway through and turned it off...I can go to another TV and pick it up at that spot. The downside is we only have 4 signals coming into the house at one time..so if I'm recording two programs at 8:00 and I want to watch a 3rd channel and my daughter is watching her tv and my son is watching his, someone gets booted off. So now I figured out if I have two shows on at the same time, I either watch my DVRed program, or turn the channel on one of the recorded programs and no one gets booted off. It is a matter of getting everyone in the family cooperating with the programing. When the AT&T was being installed, the installer told us Brighthouse could be here. So about a month ago we had Brighthouse look into it and after about a month of their research, they found out that our house is strong for Brighthouse as well. I do like the Uverse more then Brighthouse and it all goes back to the DVR usage. My hubby prefers Brighthouse. |
