Here's a few of Annie.

Oh gosh.... they all look so good! I'm printing them all off now and I'll bring them to groomer today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Thank so much!
I'll be sure to post the results! Michelle PS Here's the poodle-do: |
oh ohhh LION HEAD!
LOL our groomer (where Mulligan is headed tomorrow for a shave) is also a standard poodle owner, so there is a lot of tendency to look like a poodle. Just remember to tell them to leave a half inch on the hair so there's no chance of sunburn. Though this time of year it's probably not much of a concern yet. |
I remember leaving Pepsi for his first shave down.
I told the groomer I wanted him the short all over but leave it a little bit more hair on the head. When I picked him up he had a lion head I was not happy with that look and fixed him with my clippers. The next time we went I brought pictures from the forum and got the result I wanted. I told her this is what I wanted, one length all over.. those are the pictures above. I didn't want to chance ending up with a lion head again...lol |
Here are two pictures of Benny after his last haircut. I hope they help!!
|
Benny looks great! |
What a fun thread! All the adorable nekkid boys!
Love it. |
Michelle,
How did it go? When do we get pictures of Rufus?? |
I just uploaded the new cut... but golly, I can't believe the groomer did it again! Very fluffy! I immediately went out and bought a clipper! I had to trim down the ears and the head -- rufus looked like a live bobble-head with pigtails! I think I may trim his head down further. It's about an inch long. I will post the pic once it's approved.
Michelle PS Thanks for all the great pictures -- I loved seeing them all! |
Michelle - the groomer who trimmed Beaureguard did that too. When I picked him up the first time, he looked like this:
I HATED it!! Unfortunately, she was gone when I got there to pick him up. So, I had to take him back the next day and make her fix it. The picture I posted earlier in the thread is what he looked like the 2nd day. From then on, I do it myself!! |
Here he is...
I was so mad when I picked him, I started hand sheared his ears! Then I stopped and and took his picture. Sorry - it was hilarious! I whacked off about 5 inches on the length of the ears. Then I got the clippers, and will continue on with him today. He still looks very girly! Oh well... I just came across a web site called Mud Puppies in TX - and they will teach you how to groom your dog, kinda pricey though. Michelle |
If you took her pictures and he still came out like this, I think I'd have to find a new groomer or learn to do it myself, too. Don't blame you a bit! |

I agree..... The groomer really should have gotten it right having a picture to work with. I also got fed up with the groomers and bought a set of good clippers. Here is the first haircut with Lion Head...and these pictures were taken after I tried to fix it, so you can only imagine how bad it was before I tried to fix it. |
I completely understand you being upset about his haircut especially since you brought pictures in. Yes, you need to find a new groomer who will listen to you and really try hard to make you happy. It has taken my groomer 3 yrs to cut Annie the way I want and even then I'm not so sure she remembers every time we go there. I have new pictures for her to keep Annie's file too. |
