After sniffing each other through the French doors, Ben was the first allowed out to greet Murdock. Ben is old enough to be calm and mellow enough to like everyone. Ben was more interested in the attention from people than the pesky dog. Riley came out second. That began a solid 30 minutes of the puppy olympics. The tongues were hanging low, lots of huffing and puffing. They weren't willing to stop for more a few seconds. It looked like one of the classic cartoons with Riley chasing Murdock into one room, then Murdock chasing Riley out of the room. Murdock gave Riley soggy ears. Riley returned the favor by giving Murdock a wet back. Bailey was the last to come out. She is the Alpha and can be very vocal, which we thought might scare Murdock. Bailey is also the wrestling champ, not a good choice of entertainment with our small guest. After she greeted the humans, it was time to play with Murdock. The second session of the puppy olympics began. The amazing thing is that Bailey and Riley haven't run into each other as they chased Murdock. We are still planning to separate the dogs when we leave the house - no point in pushing our luck. The only question is who will be the first to fall asleep.... |

What a great mom you are! How great that your daughter feels free to not only bring home her roommate, but the roommate's dog, too.
Sounds like a fun weekend! |
I don't think it is that I am such a great mom, it's that I am so dog crazy.
Ben, our golden, had a very bad experience at a wonderful kennel. He stressed out and tried to dig his way out of the room. Wore his front nails down to the quick - to the point that they were bleeding, his feet swollen and he could hardly walk. All that in less than 48 hours. He had to be on steriods, antibiotics and pain meds for a month. Since then, he either travels with us or family comes to stay with him. So Ben and the girls love to travel. When we visit family, the dogs come too. I have even taken my Betas with us in the car So how could I not let Murdock come visit? Worse case, my kids would have spent the weekend in their room for most of the weekend. I'm on Spring Break this week, so they have free run of the house this week. |
Okay so you're a good mom and dog crazy!!
Sounds like you've got a housefull of love! Marianne and the boys |
