American Idol
I wanted Chris (the guy who sang last) to keep singing!!! He rocked. I think the Harry Potter guy (was compared to someone from chicken little) is TOO funny dancing. He probably believes Paula when she said he's going to be the next male sex symbol.  Wish he was a better singer though because I like him.

He has such a nice family/life ...I can't imagine what always being on the road and touring (Which he'll have to do by contract whether he wins or loses for the next year) does to the family. That's got to tear up so many homes. Seeing your husband being drooled on and always being gone. |
| Okay, I do not watch much television but two shows that I do like to watch are American Idol and Amazing Race, (I want to be on the Amazing Race someday). For the females I like Mandesia, the older African American woman. And for the guys Chris. I am hoping a guy takes it this year. In my humble opinion I think the guys have more talent this year. But I give props, sounding like Randy here , to all of the finalist for having the courage and confidence to get up in front of millions of people each week to compete.And on a side note they need to get rid of Paula, she is beginning to get on my last nerve. | Ok...you've got my attention with this topic! I think the men are a million times more talented then the women this year. I'm really torn between Chris and Taylor (doesn't he look like George Clooney?). My husband does the same work Chris does (Service Advisor), so of course Chris is his favorite. There is another guy, I don't know his name, he's sorta funny looking, oval shaped head..who is incredibly talented..ah, maybe Elliot? And the guy Ace is just a pretty boy..reminds me of Constintine. I'm so sorry, but the Pickler girl turns my stomache. She comes across as phoney "Ellie May" or Dolly Parton. I know lots and lots of people like her, but she just rubs me wrong! I'm crazy about Paris!!! How very talented she is. And I also think Mandesa is fabulous. The rest all sorta sound the same. Now for Paula...GET RID OF HER! She's like Randy's echo! And during the elimination, her comments made her sound like was really stoned. Can't take her anymore. I personally (ok you can boo me) think Simon is the most honest with his comments. He's a straight shooter and has given lots of constructive critisisms this year. Ok...got it off my chest...Jacobson....OUT! |
| I am rooting for Eliot Yamin b/c he is a Richmond, VA boy and he sounds pretty good, though not the best of the guys. There are 2 that sound better to me, I will have to watch next week and post names as they have left me...lol!
For the girls not that impressed this year. Pickler is cutsie but she won't win no matter how hot the guys think she is! Though I do think she will make it through next week to the top six. My favorite girl (can't remember her name either!) didn't sing so hot last week but she will also make it to top six if not far better. Unless she cleans up she will not make it to the top, though she has serious potential. I am going to have to go through with a pen and paper Tues and Wed and rate to see how I think my choices will do...hehehe! |

Chris is my pick, for the winner, although I also like Taylor. He is just so different! I am not too impressed with the girls, but if I had to choose, Paris! Kelly Pickler, I find annoying! Again...Kelley Picksler drives me nuts  ! She is dumb as a box of rocks! I don't get it!Has anyone noticed a few of the people on the show (including Paula) have worn a silver star pendent necklace? Almost like a sheriff's star. A couple weeks ago Buckie wore it, then Paula and now I've seen it on a couple of the gals. Does anyone know what it is? I also think Simon really nailed the two that will leave tonight. I don't know their names though...I think they were the 3rd and 4th ones. Whatcha all think? |

I think Simon nailed it too. I think Kelly isn't as dumb as she makes out to be, but is playing up to what has come to be expected of her...I really liked her but have to agree that cutsie "I'm just a little ole farm girl " is getting old and is alienating the female watchers..the guys will still love her. However, I think it's females that vote more often on these shows so we'll see what happens. Now I'm really hoping Mandisa makes it..that woman has heart and soul. Paris is only 16 ( one of my previous favorites) and has all the time in the world to make her mark..Mandisa is one of the oldest contestants and I'm really hoping she'll make it in the top three. I'm still dissapointed that Sway left the show this soon. While I didn't see him as a winner I felt he was very likeable and talented. The young guys are okay but I feel they sing the same old sounding tunes. Idol contestants eventually have to sing a whole range of songs and I don't think they're up to it. LOL! | The pendents are a gift Paula gave everyone. She gave a few people (or just the winner or just the last few finalists... don't remember) the same thing last time too.
I only caught the last 10 minutes of last night's episode so I can only tell you how 2 girls were. First off, I TOTALLY disagree about Kelly Pickler. I think Kelly really is a sweet farm girl and by far (so far) doesn't come off dumb. I think she's just innocent ...naive. A rare find. If she's otherwise... it WILL come out in tabloids (friends of friends..etc) ...and/or will come out as the housemates live together. After awhile... people cannot hide their true colors. I think it's charming to find girls that are still innocent like that. IMO, you don't always have to know that "people do evil things" or "chicken of the sea ...isn't chicken" to be smart. This doesn't mean I think she will win, but if there was an "American Idol" ...I would rather it be her than that Fantasia chick. That's not a chick I'd want my kids to "idol" (something they made a point about finding the first few seasons.. someone with a whole package). |
| Out of the guys, Ace was my favorite last night, followed by Chris.
Elliot was good but there's a disconnect between his singing and his looks. Something just isn't right. My husband and I went in loving Taylor, but we're slowly turning from him as each episode passes. He's not as good as we thought he was during the auditions. We were laughing our heads off watching him dance. We definitely think he's genuine, just a huge dork! I couldn't help but crack up as they showed Harry Potter (kevin) in the background dancing as the other guys were singing. TOO FUNNY. We already have a Clay Aiken........ it's time American Idol got a new sort of guy. Then there's the guy with the long hair and mustache. To me he's just forgettable. |
| I only started watchig AI last season...actually my husband started watching it, and I got caught up! So...I don't know who Fantasia is. BUT one of the women who works for me has watched the show from the beginning and HATED Fantasia. I agree with Marianne. I think Kelly is "shark"...and yes, I suspect it will come out. My problem with her, and the winner last year (sorry, old age...can't think of her name...but note...I did like her)...is that I don't think that music belongs on AI...I think they should have been on Nashville Stars. As for Mandesia...WOWIE ZOWIE!!!! What a talent! What a personality! I'd love to see her go to the final two. I'm frightened for her the "fat" prejedice will get in the way. What a darned shame. Yes, Paris is delightful and talented, but yes, she has many, many years ahead to do this. Boy time - - - love, love, love Taylor!!!! ("nuf said!). Thanks for the info on the "star". I don't like Ace either -- too pretty for me. I haven't really felt like I'm rooting for anybody yet. Last year, I loved Constantine. . . I liked Bo alot too but I thought Constantine tried harder and showed more range. |

| I don't know how I missed this post. I am an AI junky too. I love Taylor because he is our hometown boy. My husband labeled him Wednesday night as Joe Cocker in Michael McDonalds body. I thought he did a good job on his song, JMO.
Bo Bice(last years runner up) is from here also. Someone commented that there would be a major lifestyle adjustment when winning something like this. Bo had to sell his home that he had been in for several years because so many people knew where he lived. People would just show up at his door. Not an easy thing to deal with when you have a new baby in the house. |
| I was surprised to see Gedeon get voted off last night. I figured he would make top 6 of males (don't need to elaborate there). Maybe America really is voting for this.

| I was surprised to see Gedeon go, too. I really liked him and thought he was very talented, but I knew in my heart, he wasn't right for this competition. I have a feeling some MoTown label will snatch him up, and he will be very successful. I was sure "Chicken Little" aka "Harry Potter" would be gone last night. I guess he truly is the novelty vote, like Federoff (?) of last year. The girls who left didn't surprise me at all. |

Ace is going downhill. First he sings a Michael Jackson song and now he's just ruining all time classics. I think Paris and Chris will be in the final 4. I still think Taylor would be not be as far without his dancing. He's a good singer, but no where near the best on that stage. I had a smile on my face while he sang last night and am a fan. Harry Potter (Kevin) and Lisa should be one of the two booted off this week. There's just something I don't like about Yamin either. |

Paris and Chris were GREAT! I have never heard the Johnny Cash song but loved the way he started softly and then exploded into it. Especially nice that he chose the song partly because of it's message to his wife. Good guy! |

| I just read that the website votefortheworst.com is backing Kevin. I recall they did that for one of the least talented last year, and kept him in the running for a long time. Its too bad jokesters will ruin it for some of the more talented people by stuffing the ballot boxes with fake votes. |
| Bucky wasn't the best last night, and based on last night's performances only, I think he'll be the one going tonight.
Wasn't real thrilled with Chris's rendition of Walk the Line either. Fell asleep and woke up at the tail end of Kelly's song, but from what I gathered, she did good. She's one of my least favorites. Just something about her I don't like. No one says much about Katherine, but I really like her voice. I hope she goes at least until the top 4. And Kevin is only around because of the votefortheworst.com site. He really DOES look like Chicken Little, has no rhythm, and is barely a good singer. But he still did a better job last night than Bucky, so he may survive one more week. Chris |

Simon's comment was great - that he was the first artist who didn't compromise his integrity. I could easily see Chris releasing that version on the indy radio station my stepson listens too. Why are those judges so down on Lisa? There were a lot of performances worse than hers, and Randy and Paula were positive ("you're so needed in this competition!"). |

Well, guess votefortheworst.com couldn't save Kevin any longer. Good thing, too. But I wasn't impressed the way Ryan kept calling him Chicken Little and even had a side-by-side picture of Kevin and Chicken Little. That was a bit TOO rude, IMHO.  Vote him in or don't vote for him based on his own merit, not because he doesn't "look the part."
Bucky will probably be next, but I wish it would be Kellie. The country hick act is getting to me. I heard that when Kevin got voted off, votefortheworst.com was going to back Kellie. Guess I'm not alone in my thinking.

| Ace -I can't believe I ever thought he was cute (the very first episode). I'm just waiting for him to come out with some sort of comment about wanting to climb up a tree to write songs like Michael Jackson. When he sings, he tries to make love to the camera. Makes me want to vomit in my mouth a little.
Except for Bucky, Chris, and Kelly... they all sucked imo. Country just isn't most of their things. I was VERY impressed with Chris. First time I liked Bucky too. I have to admit that I now don't like Kelly AS MUCH and you guys were right. Each week, it seems to get worse. I don't think a lot of these guys were bad this week rather than they chose songs that don't show off their vocal range... okay, some of them sucked. Paris and that other big chick did not choose songs they could vocally sing better or equal to the people who really sing it. I do think Paris is a cutie though. I wonder who will be bottom 3. |

| Who sang that John Denver song? And whoever sang Garth Brooks butchered it. Country just wasn't anyones thing. Mr. J and I thought Chris would have done better singing Garth because he had more of the Country accent/tone together (while singing).
It's hard for me to remember. It was hard for me to really listen to their vocals because I was too busy singing. I DID agree with Simon about Chris. I LOVED Chris singing, but I didn't think the song he chose changed enough to show off his vocals. This is becoming something they say each week (choose the right song). |

| I was so sorry they did country last night. Its the American Idol show, not Nashville Stars. I'm not a fan of country (can you tell?) and could tell most of them weren't either. As you know, I adore Taylor, but he seemed so bored with his song. I missed him dancing and prancing. I hate to say this, but I thought he did the worst of anyone last night. But because of that, I voted for the first time...and it was for him. I'm too afraid he could leave. I think the bottom 3 will be (and I'm chocking back tears on this one) Taylor, Mandesa and Paris. Country just wasn't their thing. Chris always rises to the occation. Kathleen was good, but I don't know why...I just don't like her. Last week when Ace touched his scar...I wanted to punch him! | I agree last night was not a great night for many of the people. Mandeesa was awful as were most of the ones left. Those toward the end of the evening sounded better then the beginning....and what happened to Taylor? He sounded blah. It was nice in my opinion to hear something different from Chris, but then I missed the two weeks prior.
Katherine is one of my favorites and after last night, I think she may have potential of getting into the top several. Wonder who will get voted off tonight.... |
| I enjoyed last night. Chris has such great voice and presence on the stage and seems so centered in who he is.
Catherine seems to play the pretty girl, which she should, but is not consistent with her singing. She doesn't seem to emotionally feel the whole song. It seems more of an act. I know it is, but she is almost void of true emotion. |
| Okay, here are my thoughts: I pretty much hated the whole thing last night. Country is not my thing, and apparently it's not the thing of at least 7 of the 9 contestants! Mandisa has such a powerful voice, but it's just not suited to country. Same with Paris. Most of the other songs were just plain boring. Taylor barely moved the whole time he was singing. Elliott was warned not to sing "licks", just to sing the notes as is - he had a bit of a hard time doing that. He's more comfortable when he can showboat a bit more. And even though country's his thing, I really didn't think Bucky did all that well. Kenny Rogers warned him (and most of the others) about enunciating, but he didn't take the advice. I love Katherine's voice, but she does come off as a little stiff - like she's not comfortable. Chris did okay. Not as good as he usually does, but he pulled it off better than most. He does need to step out of his rock comfort zone a bit, though. Don't get me started on Kelly - even though this is her genre, I just plain don't like that girl. I want to see her gone. And Ace makes me feel uncomfortable too. Can't decide who I want gone more - Kelly or Ace, but definitely both at some point.

| I hated to see Mandesa go too. But think about who votes. Probably, mostly teens (mostly, not exclusively) who can't remember from one week to the next. And as much as I dislike Kelly, she gave great country. I think since next week they are doing Queen...we may see little Missy Pickler leave. And yea...everyone but one will eventually go. And I think they all know how incredible they must be to have gotten this far. (I"m soooooo glad Taylor was "safe" safe!) |

What did Simon say about Kelly's performance? I saw in the recap what she sang, and was curious to if she pulled it off. Also, what did Simon say about Chris? I thought Taylor was smart to change songs at the last minute. His dancing improved ten fold. The missing the mic thing (trying to kick it) was hilarious. ...even more that he didn't try playing it off and tried to kick it again.

It appeared that Ace didn't get along with the guys from Queen. Bad, bad vibes. I think (not sure) that they were all impressed with Chris. He did a song that Queen never performed live and did well. I'm going to miss it tonight....darn meeting!!!! But at least I won't be tortured waiting through all comments! |

| I didn't like Elliot with his first song. I like the nice jacket with casual pants look, but he wasn't pulling it off. Tie was bad too, so that was all I could concentrate on. In otherwords, didn't keep my interest. Also agreed with Simon the second time around that the song didn't show his vocals off at all. Liked the second song though.
Paris did a good job on the second job, but she is very squeaky which is annoying. She's such a nice girl. I think she should go next and then Elliot, but I don't know which way it will roll. Katharine did terrible on her first song. She looked gorgeous. She definitely came out with her wild side for the second one. Chris did good. Taylor had me smiling and smiling the first song. |
| Chris did okay, but it was mainly because he was back in his element. I don't think there was anything about his performance that was really outstanding. If America wants a rock idol, he's a shoe-in.
Kat didn't do well on her first song, but she made up for it with the second. When she puts her all into it, that girl can SING. Taylor was so-so for me. The first one was fun, but did nothing to show his talents off. The second was was better, but I'm a big Beatles fan, plus it was sort of subdued for him. Paris tried showing a funky side which kind of flopped. A bit too squeaky. She did much better on the second one. Elliott was very bland on the first song, did better on the second but neither performance was a knock-out. I think he'll be going tonight. |
| I wasn't surprised by the bottom two last night. Paris did better last night on her send-off song than she did on Tuesday. For 17, that girl's got a voice!! |
| I wasn't either. I'm really sad to see her go, but they all are so good. I believe in the long run, she will have the most sucessful career of all of them. Right now, I kind of don't care who wins. They are all so great. What Chris lacks in variety, he makes up in sound. What Taylor lacks in voice, he makes up in personality. What Elliott lacks in looks (bless his heart) he makes in voice& personality. What Katherine lacks in personality (I don't like her), she makes up in looks and voice. So...its sort of a toss up for me. |

Chris is good in his element, iffy in others. Not sure how that will work for him. Taylor is a big time ham. He loves strutting and gesturing. Personally, that act is getting a bit old for me. Will that mask his vocals for the audience? We'll see. Elliott tries his best every week, but always seems to come up just a touch short. For everything he's been through in his life, to come this far must just be the icing on the cake for him. Vocally, Kat has always been my favorite. Her second song on Tuesday was phenomenal. Personality-wise, she needs some work. So will the audience go for talent, pity, an act, or a rocker? Time will tell. |
| I hate when this happens, but I'm bored with the show. I'm ready to find out who the final 3 is, and then have the season finale all in one evening.
We need something disappointing to happen. Although I'm sure one of the current four is someone's favorite so some people will be upset tonight. Truthfully, I think there are people better than Taylor. I think he rides along more because of his personality and his dancing. You can get so draw in with the entertainment of his song... that you don't notice what Simon picked out (very karaoke). Every week, I like Taylor more and more, so it's not something I enjoy saying... but he doesn't have the best vocals. I agree that Katharine had some flops too. But I also think she did an amazing job with her second song. |
| They are all so good. Yes Taylor doesn't have the best voice, but there is no doubt about it, he's an entertainer! Elliott really was great last night. I'm sorta getting bored with Chris. I don't think he did well. He's starting to get the "Constitine" stare. And...I still don't like Katharine. I think she could be at the end of her journey. I too am getting bored. Its going on too long...and the shows are so drawn out now. |

| Although I really do like Katherine (not so much for her entertainment value, but I truly do think she has a phenomenal voice), Elvis just wasn't her style. They really did put her at a disadvantage this week. Wonder if it was planned that way??? And the fact that she forgot some words in the first song didn't help.
Chris did marginally well. He's starting to coast on his "fame" and fans. Taylor is the perennial clown. Reminds me of a college kid on a forever binge. Everything is - WOOOOOOO!! Elliott did great, just considering last night. Elvis's songbook is not really a good theme, I don't think. I don't know what the producers are thinking with the themes this year. They really are getting boring. |

| I hate these theme shows. It really always leaves someone at a disadvantage. Not fair. I think songs from certain periods is a better way to go, because the is more variaty in the selection. Like when they did the year they were born, and the current charts. No matter how good, no one can sing Country AND rock AND Barry Manalow AND Elvis...if you catch my drift. Side note: Katharine reminds me of Katie Holmes. |

I don't think that Katherine is nearly as "sweet" as she pretends to be. I'll give her points for being attractive but, has anyone else caught the looks she gives and her actions, when she thinks the camera is off of her?????

| I've mentioned before that the footage I've seen of Katherine made me feel like she was a real ....uh, turd... underneath. It was in the very beginning when they showed kelly and kat as roommates. Kat has an attitude.
I was turned off by Chris last night. IMHO, I just don't think if he had to pick any question to answer for his fans... it would be that he wore boxer briefs. Going from a ordinary guy (w/wife and two kids) that was probably overlooked by a lot of people to famous overnight ...would make me a little jealous. But that's just the way Mr. J and I would see it as a married couple with a kid. Him and his wife may be okay with it. |

| YOU ARE SO SWEET!!! To be honest, I forgot tonight someone was getting the boot. I thought tonight was Survivor (thurs), so when I clicked on the thread, I STOPPED immediately the second I saw my name. It triggered in my head!!!

| I too was surprised it was Chris to go home. I was certain it was Kat's time...at least in my mind, and from the look on her face, in her mind too. I knew Chris didn't do well, but I certainly did not expect him to go!!! He will do very well, in the long run. But..he is a rocker, and not very flexible. As I mentioned before, I was disappointed that he developed that Constintine stare. I think that vote is what you call an upset! |

| I cannot believe that these words came from my mouth last night (hours before AI started) but, I told Quinton that I hope that Chris did get voted off............ ................I didn't want him to be limited to what AI stipulated in their contracts........I felt really bad for him once they delivered the news (we all know how I feel about Katherine) but, I really think this will be better for him!
They could have given him another week! I would have LOVED to see her get the boot! I love the energy that Taylor has (he reminds me alot of Garth Brooks - as far as the energy gos) and I think that is important but, I have to say I like Elliots vocals better..........as long as I keep my eyes shut! (I cannot stand to watch his face/mouth when he is singing.........kinda like Jessica Simpson ) |

| You have no idea how much so many of the guys out there love this show. They are constantly trying to be the first to talk to their wives to find out the "latest." These are mostly guys who claim to hate reality shows too.

I could be wrong, but I thought they are still VERY limited to what they do after the show. Many of the other contestants have said they couldn't do this or that due to their STRICT contract. I'm pretty sure they still have a leash on you afterwards. They talk about it in more detail on "Reality Secrets Revealed 2" ...one of the many junk shows I've watched over the weekend. |

They are Rock/Alternative Rock/Metal.......they sound like Chris.............age has nothing to do w/ it......just preferance in music........Creed was awsome w/ Scott Stapp as lead, he broke away from the band due to indiffrences.....he's a really good guy (nice rocker!) Fuel is similar.

| He is very cute and he is such a proud papa! His boy looks just like him.........my oldest boy looks like Jagger.......his son..........I used to get asked if he was Scott's since we go way back (although I haven't seen him in forever).
I like it when rockers show their soft side! Makes them real! But, honestly, I think Chris would fill in his shoes beautifully!!!!! |
