He lives a double life these days with two homes. I haven't had a front gate for some time now. I have some garden fencing there that Peanut keeps getting under it and disappearing for hours. The sad part is I didn't even know when he leaves. I figured he was just hanging out somewhere in the backyard. Peanut has been hanging out at my neighbor, Joe's. He gets under the fence and goes into the house thru the cat door. WHAT NERVE!!! He's been eating the cat food....lol Rags and Peanut do not get along and she never lets him near his own bowls so he goes to Joe's and eats. That explains the upset stomach. If my hubby doesn't fix the hole Peanut will continue to go and hang with Joe and the cats. Have I mentioned recentley that I am stuck with the Dog from He** ? He has refused to give up Alpha status to Rags and starts 99% of the fights. I spoke with the woman at the local poodle rescue and she said I should put a prong collar on Peanut, because he acts like that because he's spoiled. He is not spoiled and the first time I jerk him by the collar he would have probably have a seizure. She said no rescue will take him because he nipped Hayley, he is considered a "known bitter" and then the fact that he is 6 yrs old. She said no one wants a 6 yr old....and he's a male...no one wants a male.... And he's special needs because of the seizures. So I am stuck with my growling, biting, psycho, toy poodle. I really wish my Grandmother would take him.... She adores him and he adores her. |

Sounds like a firecracker! Does your neighbor Joe enjoy Peanut's company? |
Joe adores Peanut. He's a bachelor in his early 50's.
So he has his cats. Joe has a special voice he uses when he calls Peanut. He is not home enough to have a dog, but enjoys having Peanut around. |
Do you think Joe might want to have Peanut on a more permanent basis? Maybe the solution is right there, next door. . . |
I know you've been having a difficuot time with Peanut, but the fact that he goes into Joe's house just cracks me up! I'm thinking that Peanut probably goes potty outside anyway...maybe he can live with Joe and visit you! Since he lives next door, you can always check on him. Sounds like he doesn't mind Joe's cats as long as they have food |
How odd! How did you find all this out? Did Joe tell you? Can you ask gradma again if she wants Peanut? Poor dog and family, too. Must be a horrible situation to be in... |
Val,
Joe enjoys living the single life and is out a lot. Also his job takes him out of town quite a bit for days at a time. Stacy, He ignores Joe's cats. They all have claws and could seriously mess him up. I don't think Joe's cats know what to think about Peanut. Unfortunately for the reason mentioned above Joe cannot take him. Steph, Joe told Billy today. I am going to ask my Grandma again....she just got a new woman who takes care of her at night....If she agrees to it then it would be ok.... I don't think she likes dogs though |
Maybe grandma and helper could try it out--trial basis...that way if it doesn't work out then neither of you are in any worse position than you are in now...and you get a vacation from Peanut for a while... |
Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. |
