We've done REI (sports place), best buy, and many many others. interests: wine wine wine wine wine wine wine road biking clothes (but this is out of the question since we don't know his size and he only gets one brand...this brand doesn't have a gift card) golf (we've done golf balls) He works for one of the biggest wineries, so we can't get him "wine" or anything related to it (wine stoppers, etc) because we could never afford something better than he already has. I know there are some creative places that have gift cards, but I don't know what they are. His wife got us a gift card called Fandango bucks which allows you to purchase movie tickets at theaters. That was cool, but I can't regive. maybe a blockbuster gift card? /scratches head |

Where does he live? |
Jo-
What about a gift certificate to a sommelier (wine steward) class, or to a shop that sells wine realted stuff, like nice cork stoppers, or bottle openers? Or what about a beautiful coffee table book about wine? Even if you can't afford a super nice bottle of the stuff, it's so popular now, you should be able to find something complementary... |
those are some good ideas iriskmj. ...especially the wine book
edit: dallas, tx regarding wine classes. he goes to the best in the world (all over the world) all the time for FREE. ours would suck. |
Are there any wine festivals in dallas that he would like to go to? Or is that mixing business with pleasure...
I like the coffee table book too. Does he like to cook? Maybe get a cookbook with making stuff from wine... Or a subscription to Wine Lover's or Food and Wine magazine... Or a gift card to a golf course in town... |
^^^
those are wonderful ideas and yes... he grills all the time. |
My mom just got me a cook book from when they were in Fort Worth called "There's a cowboy in the kitchen" which has all sorts of Texas food, from grilled venison to chile rellenos... |

Yes, wine of the month club. We belonged to one years ago in Denver, what a blast! Of course it was a come on to get us into the shop, but oh what a shop it was and great, great information on the wines.

A Netflix subscription with movie goodies would be fun. |
Gift card to bookstore that also sells CD's. Gift card for car washes or detailing. Does he like massages? Kind of pricey. Gift card to a restaurant. |
Oh, I forgot Starbucks. |

We got my BIL this card for a thankyou for helping on our reno's, he loved it...but his fav coffee place is Starbucks. I'd get a Starbucks, and Chapters...so he can buy a coffee and daily newspaper, or a coffee table book as was mentioned. Does he own his home or rent...Home Depot is great if he needs to buy tools or build a wine rack. |
