Hi Shug,
Wowzers! That's fantastic! Thanks for telling me about this. I remember you were interested in TETRA, the organization he created. Here's a link to it. http://www.tetrasociety.org Marianne and the boys |
Can't wait now to see the closing cereromy, especially as he is your cousin, make the ceremony more memorable |
Thanks Lisa! I can't wait to view it too.
I just saw an amazing story on the news last night - very heart warming which again reminds me of wonderful human spirit. The news showed a young boy whom assisted his basketball team at school. He has autism (Aspergers - which is high functioning autism). He coach felt after all his dedication to the team , he should be given a chance to play on the last day as was always his wish instead of sitting on the sidelines. He is in his last year of high school. The kids in his school had mask made of his face and held them up in the stands. He was passed the ball as soon as he appeared on the court. He missed the net by about six feet. Perhaps it's because everyone was praying and wishing for this to be a special night for him...this happened. His next shot...far from the net...went in..3 points!!! The crowd cheered and fans couldn't stop chanting his name. He did it again...and again...and again. An unbelievable night that everyone there said they will never forget. What a wonderful heartwarming story and just watching it on the news I was awed. Imagine all that we can accomplish in our lives with the full use of our capacities with role models like Sam or the young boy, I just spoke of. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I love stories like this! Marianne and the boys |
