Everything you said is true. There's something about them that leave the strongest impressions on your lifetime. I lost my Katrina in 2002 and literally not a day goes by that I don't remember her. Only now it is more with smiles than tears, although there is still such a strong ache for her. Just remembering how much she loved me sometimes helps me face another day and I want to be better because she believed in me so much. I wish I could make it better for you. Sending lots of good energy your way so that you may find some peace. |

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your Lucy. It's obvious from your post how much loved she was and how you must be grieving for her. I think it works twofold...she knew how much you loved her and in return loved you back just as much. I'm really sorry to hear of her loss and condelences to you. In time, when you are ready you may want to share some happier Lucy moments, her silly antics, her memorable quirks and perhaps even post her photo. In aprox 2 wks is the 2 yr anniversary of the passing of my beloved Shaggy and I still miss her. I now have other sheepies in my home that needed a furever home. I could never replace her as she was one of a kind but helping other furballs of her breed has helped me honor her. We wish they could live forever and sadly that's not the case but your Lucy will live forever in your heart. Hugs to you Marianne and the boys |
| You all are so wonderfull I cant tell you how much it has helped me to be able to share with people who understand not just the grief im going thru but how special OES are & what they mean to the people who share their lives. My deepest sympathy to you, I do understand the relationship you and your sweet Lucy shared, I too recently lost my dear boy and life is just not the same. Having Kiera, whom we adopted nearly 3 years ago has made the adjustment so much easier. We will always miss those special ones in our life, but I do believe that they would want us to love again. I have an anniversay of one year coming up soon, so we all know what you are going through. It is never easy loosing the ones that we love so much, but sweet memories of those that are gone do blossom through in time and makes it a bit easier then.

I too am sorry for your loss. I hope you are doing better. It has been just seven weeks since we lost our precious Mopsy and I am still welling up even as I write this. Like you I just wanted more time. Your pictures of Lucy are beautiful and the memories of her will be with you forever. We got a new baby Harrington a month ago and I am enjoying him immensely. Having his warm fuzzy body to hug is very cathartic. But letting go of Mops has been hard. I even felt guilty sometimes for mourning her because she brought me such joy and how can something so wonderful be so sad. Keep us posted on your progress, you are in my thoughts. Judi |

| Hi everyone, well its been a while, I think of Lucy often & miss her everyday. I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone you cant know how much you helped me. I wanted to do something in lucy's memory so I adopt another dog make that 3 dogs from a shelter, coonhounds, 3 brothers, a very good friend took 1 and we found a nice family to take the other they are great dogs gentle and quite reminds me of someone I use to know. Ive been thinking of adopting a or fostering a OES.

| Good to hear from you. We also have a sweet coonhound, a rescue girl in fact. Maggie is still a work in progress, but she has come so far in just 9 months.
There is such a need for foster homes, that would be a wonderful thing to do.  |
