I got Barkley a week before Christmas this year, and didn't want to board him or get a pet sitter, when he was so new to the household--so I called my mom and told her I was bringing Barkley-or I wasn't comming down. She relented. She wasn't happy about it, but she gave in. Well...... I just got a Valentine in the mail from my Mom. She signed it: Happy Valentines Day to you and the doggie! Love, Your Mom I honestly think this is the best valentines present I've ever had! |

I think your Mom may have a soft spot for Barkley.
How Sweet! |
That is such a sweet story Deograine and just goes to show you a sheepie is irrisistible to even those that many not normally love dogs. You just watch ..next year she'll refer to him as her grandbaby!
Marianne and the boys |
Deograine that is a wonderful story, bet you are so proud of Barkley winning your mum over like that. My mum occassionally doggie sits for me and I have a lot of trouble getting them back from her
She was hesitant at the start BUT BOY did that change, now she says when can I have them again? When are you going away? etc etc etc Got to admit that sheepies do have a way of wiggling into peoples hearts |
awwww |
That's so sweet....
My mother can't stand animals.... doesn't like to be anywhere near them.... That's one thing I really don't think she'll evr change on. |
That's sweet, Barkley won her heart ! |
Next thing you know she'll be calling him the grand pup!!! |
That is an awesome gift!!! Its amazing how sometimes they turn around...My mom is known as Mimi to my nephews and she called herself Mimi to Panda when she came out for Christmas...It does make you feel good knowing that your dog is so well loved! |

It really does, doesn't it? I know my folks love my babies, but it still makes my heart smile when they refer to them as their granddogs. |

That's what made the card so special and so amazing. At Christmas Barkley stayed in his crate in my Mom's garage. It's attached to her house, but I was afraid I wouldn't hear him if he needed to go out, so I slept on her living room floor. My mom thought I'd lost all my marbles. I think she just finally realized how much he means to me, and how happy I am. I think she also feels a little relieved. She always worried about me being alone and single and although Barkley wouldn't hurt a fly, my mom doesn't know that (and I have no intention of telling her). So she feels like I'm "protected." |
My mom is known as Grams to all of the animals in our family, my brother & SIL cannot have children so they have there animals and mom gets cards in the mail from "the girls aka her grandpups and kitty's"! |
Cute.
My Dad called Bunker and Rainger his granddogs. He expects a father's Day, Bithday and Christmas Card and presents from them evey year. |
That's wonderful, Deograine! |
