Looks like Ron and our New Jerseyites may have been hit the hardest. I was actually dissappointed that we didn't get much in upstate NY . My DIL in NYC said they got almost 30 inches and the city was in a panic!!!! My son, who lives in the outskirts of Washington DC said 7inches had everyone in a tither. I guess it's all in what you are usd to!!! We've had hardly ANY SNOW since early December here and I am accustomed to stroms that dump FEET at a time so I hate to say it but really wouldn't mind one really good blinger of a storm before the winter is over (as long as everyone stays safe!!) |
Thanks for asking Zoe!
We had 'storm watch' here all weekend long...and when they make such a big deal about a storm coming usually nothing happens. Well, we DID get some snow. We got about 6 inches, which for us was a lot at once (especially since it was 70 degrees about a week and a half ago!). Nothing major happened here, though, just some nice, fluffy snow! |
We got about 18 inches here, give or take, and it's business as usual today. As I look out my window here, the street is clean right down to the pavement. It was 18 inches of very fluffy stuff, not much moisture in it.
The "Blizzard of (19)78" was another sotry. That was about 3 feet of the heavier stuff during February 6-9, and it was only about 17 days after another storm had just dropped 17 inches. There was just nowhere to put it. Closed the whole City of Boston for a work week. |
All of you in the Northeast and Northwest please face towards the southwest and blow! Send you storms to us. We haven't seen any moisture since mid October! It's going to be a nasty fire season unless we get something soon.

BBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...Im sticking to my shorts and wool sweater thank you very much..... |
Hi Zoe,
Thanks for checking in on all of us. We had about the same amount of snow as Ron's area-about 17 inches. It was light fluffy stuff, so not too hard to clean up compared to the winter we had last year. Sheepieboss, we'll just break out our fans and fan it to New Mexico before it touches ground here next storm ! Warm up your snow shoes |
Anyone up for camping?
|
Ron, That picture is beautiful. Not one single blemish in the snow. Your motorhome is stranded
Steph your picture is also great. I love the big pine trees. I miss them...especially covered in snow. But you all will not hear me complaining about the wonderul temperatures that we've been having. Low 80's Ryan even went in the pool yesterday. |
I don't miss the white stuff this year. We have no snow here in Edmonton. None at all!! |
I've gotta admit, these pics do make me just the teensiest bit jealous!
Steph -love the new avatar of Barns in the snow! The Happie Camper doesn't do snow? |
About 2 feet outside our door. Glad the sun was out today to melt all residual ice on our walkway and driveway, but of course, will probably turn to ice again tonight.... |
Cookout, anyone?

Here I sit in "COLORADO WINTER WONDERLAND" with NO SNOW so far this year! It was almost 60 degrees yesterday and no wind. The tree's are all budding out, iris are peeking up. I even saw a Robin last week. HARRUMPH!!!! But, I know it is coming.
In fact, sooner than later. It is supposed to start snowing here (I'll believe it when I see it) tomorrow afternoon. I'll bet it goes south of us again by 20 miles. I've seen flakes but that's about it here this winter. I knew it would snow this week as it always does. Everyone trying to get from NYC to Denver for the shows this weekend. It ALWAYS snows. I just hope it holds off til after March 2nd. ;0) Zoe, I'm COMMING TO SEE YOU GUYS!!! Norm and I are meeting for his R&R. We will be seeing our dear 84 year old "adopted dad" for 4 days down in the south. Then we are coming up for CRUFTS. We have rented a cottage in Wilmcote. It was actually owned by Shakespear's mother Mary Arden. I love the Cotswolds......... Hope to see you. Ali and the terrible crew here in dry Colorado (we even had a forest fire yesterday up at Evergreen!) |
Brr... pretty pictures though! We had about 10 minutes of flurries , lol - was fun since we almost NEVER get snow. I'm jealous of all of you that have it, lol |
