I Made The Front Page!!!
I performed my family Valentine's show yesterday, for the Arts Council and had a few suprises! Two weeks ago, a reporter had called my home and interviewed me via telephone. The lady at the Arts Council came up to me at the end of the show and said I saved a paper for you - you made the front page! They also did a full page spread of "Miss Parfait"., in the Entertainment section.Whooo Hoooo! I hadn't seen it as this was the local paper and I don't live in that area. She also gave me the posters they used for the front of the theater. I should explain that after performing this "character" for years I always shunned publicity due to my boys were always horribly embarressed as to my other line of work. LOL! When one of my sons was about 10 he told the Real Estate Agent whom always dressed to the 10's - "I wish my mom dressed up for her job". The agent responded, "She does". Ha Ha! Now for those of you that have been hibernating - Miss Parfait is a "real sweetheart", big poofy Gone With The Wind Type Dress, huge hat, real porceline buck teeth (made by my dentist), a huge prostetic of a nose and big thick glasses. That description alone should have the men drooling. Ha Ha! Of course being girly girl she only wears pink and white lacey stuff with red accessories. What was really hilarious is they kinda goofed where they should have placed my photo. As the Headline of the day read: Chamber loses another staffer...and just above was my photo in color with the caption "Zany Miss Parfait". Wish I had a scanner! Hey just had a thought! I now have a big head like Panda's in my avatar. Hee hee! |

Miss Parfait is famous for saying "It's not that my nose is too big....it's just that my face is too small". Then again the newspaper also said, "she has brains like that of cotton candy". I still think Ron and I could have a great act together like Lucy and Ricky, George and Gracie, and the likes of them. Miss P |

| Take it to kinkos and have them scan it, maybe one of the one hour photo places could do it?

My neighbor said he'd scan it for me and when I asked his wife if he had finished with it...sigh it's the only copy I have..she hadn't realized what it was and thrown in in the recycle bin. Yikes! No damage done however, but I didn't want to let it out of my sight for fear something would happen to it and he was busy elsewhere. I tried to bring it up online too but it didn't show a pic. Good suggestion about taking it in a printing place and getting them to possibly scan it for me. I'll try to track a place down as we don't have a Kinko's here Mandy. It's not the full page article that gave me the biggest chuckle as I mentioned but how they placed the photo so close to the caption that I look like the staffer which the Chamber of Commerce lost, in the Newpaper Headlines. People must have thought no wonder! Look it says she's Zany and there I am in my big nose and buck teeth..ha ha! I can't stop laughing! I keep saying my comedy often carries over onto my "real life".
