George, I wish I could be surprised that the goverment would do something so redundantly stupid. You should've said, "Oh, are you holding the xerox copy? Well, it just turned into my fax." |
That sounds like a Reader's Digest "Life in the United States" kind of moment. You should check out their web site - you can get $300 if they use it!! |

I second what Verve up said.... Submit that to Readers Digest and you could get some $$$ for your IRS headache |
I can almost hear Sargeant Friday saying, Just the fax George, Just the fax...ha ha!

STUPID STUPID STUPID!!! That's all I have to say. The clerk probably makes minimum wage. |
That is just priceless!!!!!! The brains of some people, I swear! |

No, sadly, she probably makes about $25 an hour. |
This doesn't surprise me. My husband works for the federal government, so I get to hear stories ALL the time! lol |
I've worked for the government for about a year now and the first time I heard the statement, "Good enough for government work" while working, I nearly fell over laughing.
I imagine you could have spent a good 5 or 6 hours on the phone with that IRS agent. |
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAH...........shall I keep going? |
I found this to be quite funny myself!!!
However, thinking about it, I think there *is* a difference in the law about it. When president Clinton passed the Digital somethingorother act a bunch of years ago, that allowed faxes and emails to suffice as signatures, but probably not copies. Maybe you could have told the agent that it wasn't a copy, you had faxed it to yourself. Then again, perhaps the law requires that it be faxed to the other party of the contract.... Who knows. Still, it's funny! PS Some places require you to type your name in a box online, and that suffices as your signature. |
That's soooo funny, George!!
I'm dittoing (is that a word?) the idea about submitting it to Readers Digest! You may get some $$$$$ for this one! Just a thought...what do you want to bet that the fax machine in their office is a combination copy/fax/printer??? Does that make your fax a copy? |
What a hoot!!! Sitting here chuckling at my desk and people are beginning to look at me funny.
Nothing surprises me when it comes to the government any more. I agree about sending it to Reader's Digest - your refund just got bigger!! Chris |
HAHAHA, we make fun of our government workers too. When people move slow or just take their sweet time, in Canada we say "Must be federal emplooyees".
Maxmm and all other government works I mean no offence; but in Canada most government workers are incredible stupid and slow. Majority of them are visable minorities and can barely speak english. |
