Check it out http://www.riversideshelter.com/graphics/coachella1.pdf The previous Shelter was disgusting, smelly just a real depressing place. The new place is so clean and the dogs have these huge areas. |

Very nice!! We have a similarly nice place in my area, they just finished it last year and it was built with hundreds of thousands of dollars of all donated funds. It's a no kill shelter and while I applaud the work they do there I have little problem with it because the animal shelter is much nicer than the local homeless shelter......... seems to me there should be some sort of equity there................... |
We have several shelters in Abilene, most are pretty nice, but most of them are old We visited quite a few of them while looking for our Koda. I found that the private run shelters tend to be more of a dump than anything, our city shelter which does euthnise after 7 seven days, is very nice. I never understood what a no kill shelter was. I thought they keep all of the dogs until they get a home, that they only out them down if they're too mean or sick. I heard of a shlter in Cali that only holds dogs for 48 hours. What kinda chance is that for a puppy or cat to ind a suitable home
Off topic but Elissa your avitar doesn't look like rage it loks like a very deep depression Shannon |

Shannon Shannon, lol Darcy is right. That is our new dog Rags that we rescued a week and half ago. When I created the Avatar, the text saying Rags showed up very cleary. Somewhere it lost some resolution. I know that our shelter holds strays for 2 week and then give them I believe another two weeks to be adopted. Turn ins..unless sick are available immediately. |

Off topic but Elissa your avitar doesn't look like rage it loks like a very deep depression Shannon I always thought "no kill" ment they didn't kill them too, then I found out sometimes it just means they don't kill them THERE. Some shelters advertise as "no kill' but them when they can't find homes they ship the dogs to other shelters that do euthanize. Tasker's Mom |
that is upsetting, i've donated some cash to one of those no-kill, hope they aren't fooling me.
and congrats on the new shelter, looks really nice! |

and congrats on the new shelter, looks really nice! ASK!!!!! My local shelter made a "big deal" out of advertising as a no kill shelter, they raised a huge amount of money for the new shelter by saying tey were a no kill shelter. It was a very big scandal when it came out that they in fact sent animals to another county to be destroyed. |
With our new shelter the land was donated by Animal Samaritians.
They are no kill and are going to take as many dogs as they can. The viscious Pits will probably be the only dogs in the County Shelter. That's not bad as far as I am concerned. |
