Saying goodbye is the hardest part
It may seem strange but I believe the other dogs know, they are very subdued. When I sit next to Beau on the floor Daisy watches intently, her eyes are filled with sadness that mirror my own. Even Rosco is quiet, as if being respectful. Luke hangs around in the background observing. Beau will be buried next to Flash in a beautiful oak casket my husband is building him and will have a marble headstone with his name and silhouette engraved on it. In the spring we will plant flowers for our boys and be happy for Beau that his pain is over. |

| This was never a fair fight but at least Beau can rest for this last while and will soon be able to play and run again.
This place has become one big family. We bond together in joyous times and like this, in the sad. We are all here with you now as you go through this. If we could divide this pain up, we would all take some on so you didn't have to bear the whole burden. We are with you in words since we can't be there in person. Those darn Duke boys always were heartbreakers. |
