Sally was adopted on Saturday from rescue in Wisconsin. So far she is the best dog I've ever had. I think I've found my favorite breed. She's cuddly and sweet, big and playful. She's 18 mos. and was being sold at a house auction. The WI rescue heard about it and started a collection to buy her and her sister. They won them both and began the foster process. Luckily I had sent out an email to 5 OES rescue groups on Friday night and found Saturday morning that this one had just taken in 2 young females (exactly what we asked for) who were good with kids. The first rescue group I had spoken back in November last year told me it would take months to a year to find a young female, good with kids. So when I had sent out the email 2 weeks ago to the 5 rescue groups I thought I was planting seeds, and not expecting an offer for adoption right then and there. So needless to say our plan changed and we picked her up the following Saturday, which is a week ago now. Ok, I can ramble on. Anyhoo, she is adapting, we are adapting and life is good. Click the link to see a pic of her at our house. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v730/DeborahL/MillieSallyforWeb.jpg The photo in my avatar is a pic they sent us from rescue. She was kept outside and was very matted. It took the foster mom 4 hours to groom her and shave her. Then a week ago Wed she was spayed, hence the towel bandaid in the linked pic. The family is doing a "photo shoot" with her this weekend. The rescue group wants some pics for their newsletter and I want to start adding her into our family album and the wall photo gallery. So I'll have more pics soon. Ok, time to turn in. Figures... I do about 3 hours of OES searches in browsers and find this site at 11pm. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Thanks... |
