Just wondering if any were planned yet for this year. I Would love to attend. I don't know any other sheepies, and would love to meet them. (and owners too ) |

I am planning the 1st Sheepiefest of the West in Southern California in March |
The Philadelphia Sheepie Picnic is May 20. |
The orginal Sheepiefest! will be in Zion Illinois in October. This will be our third. |
There'll be a picnic in North Carolina in September, too. |
Tammy, where in NC? |
Winston-Salem. The newly formed Tarheel Old English Sheepdog Rescue group will have one in September. No definite date yet, but I'll keep you posted. |
Yes, please do. That's not too far away from us, and I figure if we can make the drive to Philly, we can make the drive to NC...although the humidity might kill me. |
Great! It's not so bad in September - starts cooling off just a tad by then. |
That's true--87 and 100% humidity is MUCH better than 90 and 100% humidity! |

Do you know the dates yet for October Sheepiefest???? Illinois would be the closest for me, and would love to to look forward to this all summer. |
I'd love to do something for the Michigan area this summer too, although that sounds a lot like I'm volunteering to organize it. I'd be willing to do so if there was some interest and we could get a could turn out. We could do it at my mom's place, she's out in the country with 70 acres and a pond. I'm sure we could use her barbeque and make a day of it.
I know I can count on at least 2 of you (and you know who you are!) would anyone else want to do a Michigan picnic? If so, when would be a good time? Jill |
Button, I don't know if the date has been decided yet. Last year it was the first Sunday in October. Deborah Cramer has been the organizer. Perhaps she will check in here???? Paging Debcram, paging Debcram.... |
Anytime is good for me - Michigan-wise.
I can leave now, if that's convenient . . . . |
Geezzzzzzzz....there is no rest for the wicked!!! Each year, just about this time I think...I'm not doing SheepieFest! again!!! And then I see a post from Auntie Paula and my heart goes flip-flop and I'm in again...(sigh). Last year we had our SheepieFest2! on a Sunday. We always do it the weekend Candy's Canine have their agility trials, because they are kind enough to share the forest preserve with us (gratis). This year, that Sunday would be October 8th, which poises a little problem for me. At sunset that night, Yom Kippur (a very holy Jewish holiday begins)....so I would have to leave very early to get ready to go to temple. So.....here are the options...we still have it Sunday, and someone else will have to handle the wrap up and/or clean up...or we could have it Saturday. Or as usual..if there is enough interest..we could do both days (but that seems to confuse everyone). I'm open to suggestions...and so I guess...this is the official announcement that SheepieFest3! is officially underway! I'm very excited that there will be a SheepieFest! West! Did the England SheepieFest ever take place? (I should have copywritten the name...I'd be rich <ha ha>. Welcome aboard all SheepieFesters!!!!! |
PS...yes Paula...I'm always in the background lurking around here! |
I vote for having it on Saturday so you don't have to rush for Yom Kippur. Plus we're all going to help so you don't have to do so much. |
Good news...when I went home at lunch I double checked the calendar and Yom Kippur is the week before! So.....that Sunday is a go!!!! I need more help this year....so anyone willing to work on a committee or brave enough to take over one of the aspects of SheepieFest! please email me: debcram@yahoo.com (Its all about the Sheepies!) |

Debcram------
October 8th sounds good to me. I am planning on attending. Really looking forward to it!!!!!!!! I will be coming from Omaha, Ne. Any suggestions on motel rooms that will take a sheepie??? |
Thats great news! Yes...I have a list of hotels that will accept sheepies. As we get closer, I will email a newsletter with all the information about SheepieFest! and lots of stuff about the area. Can't wait to meet you!!!! |
How fun! I haven't ever attended the SheepieFest in Illinois. How exciting! The Chicagoland OES Rescue also holds their gathering in October at King's Kennel in Riverwoods/Deerfield, IL. Not sure of dates. That's a lot of fun too!
Deb, I'll pm you for additional information |
