Is this weirdness or normal?

I've given little Remy (50lbs by the way), a very tasty real meat bone from the pet store. She has 2 lying around the house not finished and still chews on them. The thing is I gave her one to chew outside, because she's muddy and we've been having plus temp here in Edmonton, AB. So, I see her walk off with it, then a few minutes later return to the deck with nothing. I've given her a rib bone also from a pet store, and same thing. I've gone outside and can't find either one not even a left over piece. I see no signs of digging in the snow, they are completely gone. If she has buried it, I guess I have to wait until the snow completely melts to find them. Do you think she could have eaten the entire thing, she hasn't finished the ones in the house yet. I'm totoally baffled. I've searched our yard about 3 different times expecting to see them lying around, and so far nothing. Our yard is empty, not even a tree to hide anything.
Do OES hide things?
Another thing she does is for the first few minutes into a walk, she runs ahead to the end of the leash and turns around comes back and nips me on the upper thigh, I do feel teeth. I try and prevent it but she quick, it's a nip and go movement. After a few minutes she stops and the rest of the walk is fine. I expected in the ankle but she comes at me straight on.
Is this normal?

i dont know how big this bone is were talking about.... but walter has swallowed some pretty large rawhides. i gave him one that was about 5 inches long and 2 inches wide and he swallowed the whole thing in one gulp! hes swallowed some other petty amazing things as well. if you think hes eating it and its choke worthy maybe moniter him while gets the bones for a while to see just what he is doing with them.
Shaggy always throws his bones - and they go flying. He started doing this when he was a pup. He has hit the tv, and hit both me and my daughter in the head. Now I have to make sure he gets big bones, too heavy to throw. When they start to get smaller, I have to take them away. Not sure if this will help, but just a possibility

8O DUCK!
Baxter (our two year old) likes to take his bones outside and leave them for awhile. Then later that day or a few days after, he goes finds them and brings them in. Since we are in New Hampshire, and the weather has been extremely cold the past few months, the bones that he brings in are frozen. We are guessing that this just likes frozen bones. And....yes, he likes ice cubes too.
Those are funny stories.
She does like to throw things in the air, not in the house tho, only outside. The bones I gave her were quite big, not rawhides. I managed to find one buried in the snow, still intact, she barely chewed on it. I brought it inside and it's almost gone.
I decided to go digging in the yard because 3 things have gone missing, I tested her. I gave her a lg ROPE bone toy with a ball in the middle, anyways later it too dissappeared, I can't see it anywhere. This bone is red, blue, orange, it should be very visible. Like I said our yard doesn't look like she's digging in it. Obviously she is, since I found one of the three bones. Silly thing;o)

Any thought's on my other problem, her nipping me on our walk, in the first few min?
Hey maybe some thievery is going on.

My dog used to run next door and steal our neighboring boxer's bones all of the time. It used to get really comical. They would let my dog in their house too and he would go on a mission to find one of her rawhides, hide it really well under his furry muzzle and then stand at their front door ready & waiting to leave with his new loot.
hi there ....Taijablue Pisco tends to do the same thing...walks ahead comes back and nips....or if I walk him with my husband and he lays back Pisco will go to him...nip him and make an issue of bringing him to me....I sort of guess it`s his herding insting taking place....I stopped Pisco doing it this way: every time he did it a gentle tap on his nose with a big NO! ... Slowly it sank in and now he rarely does it.
Vero.
Thanks Vero, I will try that if I can. She's very quick. I see her herding instinct now kicking in when she's around another dog, she stops the dog from running, it's great exercise for her but it really picks the other dog off after awhile.
Maybe she burries them. We have 2 sheepies and I just buy big soupbones and cook them for a bit and give them to them and never had a problem. We have a neighboorhood lab and she takes every bone she can and burries them. Believe me there are all the little signs in our yard and our dogs digg them back up. I was told from breeders and friends and of course our vet not to give a big dog rawhide bones our frien had to rusch his dog to the vet and pay $300 because their dog couldn't diggest those bones,. Nici
I've heard that too, I don't give them rawhides either. Not to mention they get all gooey and every hair or piece of dirt sticks to it. I like the real thing, and they are safer.
