She will be 8 weeks, when she comes home. Mark |

I'd have to recommend that you save your money and avoid anything open like a playpen. We started out with one of those puppy pens that they sell in the pet stores. High sides, but open on top. Bailey managed to get out of that when he was about 11 weeks old. If you already have the crate, you might as well start using it right away. Usually they come with dividers so that a large crate can be sectioned off and made puppy sized. |
I agree with Sue. If you intended to crate train, it would be best to start off with that right away. If you don't want to keep her crated during the day, you should puppy proof a room and gate it off. She'll outgrow the play pen before you can say "Boo!" |
Thanks, I figured that. Zak was 4 months when I got him and I didn't crate train at first and he literally ate the carpet off the floor. I came home and found about 8 feet of it rolled up and him sitting in the middle of a pile of chewed up padding with a huge grin, The next day I bought a crate and it made all the difference, I honestly don't think he would be the well trained dog today, if not for that crate. I was just a little unsure of starting so early. |
