You all must know by now that I don't have a sheepie. But I do have a sheepie snack! An 8 pound toy poodle OK now for the question.... I was just wondering... can a dog get a cold or get sick from an owner who is as sick as a dog? I have had this cough / cold for 4 days now and it seems my pooch is getting sick now too. Or is it just my imagination? someone told me this can't happen.. Or can it?? Thanx for the help! |

I'm probably the least knowledgable person here, but I've never heard of a virus that can pass from humans to dogs. Perhaps it's sympathy pains? |
From what I know... I don't believe it is possible. I could be wrong..
In some instances you can get stuff from your dog but that is very rare. I know when I am sick my psycho toy poodle coughs too.... but he's nuts. Dogs can get sinus infections though. Could be a coincidence? |
Yeah, prob is just a coincidence. Real strange though!!
Thanks for the help! |
Hubby and I were just talking about this!!! Annie's been sneezing a lot so we were wondering if she was getting a cold. I wasn't sure if they could get them or not. |
Stacy,
The sneezing could be allergies. Harley has environmental allergies and sneezes all the time, especially after it has been windy. |
Hmmm...I never thought that doggies could have allergies with the sneezes. I always thought they just got itchy or a skin rash of sorts. Since my allergies have been bad with the crazy weather we are having (warm one day, cold the next, rain, then snow), it makes sense! |
