I don't have a picture but I've always had the same idea for when we get married! |
This I want to see!!!!!!! |
Though not an OES, I believe Adam Sandler (of Happy Gilmore fame) had his former Bulldog in a tuxedo as his ringbearer. Right after his wedding last year he had some pix on his web site. Might want to check out and see if they are still up. |
No, not a tux!! Sheepdogs are so pretty naturally. Maybe a nice black bow tie over a pleated dickie, but not a whole suit. |
Valere, come to the rescue! Put a tux on lil Walter. |
Okay, if this works, here is a link to a previous post by "Albertsmommy". Her avatar has Albert in a tux.

That picture is hilarious! And just the way you started this thread made me laugh.
I wanted Barney (and Maggie) to be in my wedding as ringbearer and flowersheepie but Barney was still too crazy at that point and Maggie doesn't like to be around a lot of people--she's skittish--so I was just imagining her getting scared and peeing on the church floor. I think you should go for it! I love the tux look, but just a bowtie would be really cute too. I think your sister should definitely say yes! Congrats to her... |
OK, OK, that's fine. At least he's not wearing pants. I think that's what drives me nuts. Albert looks rather dashing.

Hilarious! Congrats to your sister and I think Walty would be adorable in a tux just like Albert's! |
I agree! I think it's a great idea and Albert's tux is perfect!
Congrats to your sis! |
As a sheepie lover I think it's a great idea. But unless your sister is a sheepie lover too remember, it's her wedding |
thanks betsy! albert looks adorable in his little tux.
they might have the wedding in my parents backyard, if thats the case then my sister ok'd walter as ring bearer! |
I think I remember you posted some pictures of Walter in your parent's back yard once before. If that's the place I'm thinking of, it's a beautiful setting for a wedding! |
Why not, I wish Bunkie was behaved enough to be included in a wedding party but she would be "Oh look, people, people"!!
Make sure he wears cuff links |
LOL If you can convince her, we need tons of pictures! LOL |
Hi Heather, just wanted to tell you about our OES ringbearer experience:
My husband & I decided to have a surprise wedding to be held on July 4th, 2003 at our annual 4th of July BBQ at our house. (It is the 2nd marriage for both of us so we didn't want any wedding gifts and wanted it to be very casual). We didn't tell anyone except for my mom. The mayor was supposed to show up at 2pm and my mom was to go get our now departed sheepdog, Newman who had the rings tied to a ribbon around his neck. Well, the mayor showed and my mom went and got Newman. We announced to our 100+ guests "WELCOME TO OUR WEDDING!" Everyone started cheering, immediately followed with roaring laughter. I looked down at Newman and he decided to do his business exactly at the same moment we made our announcement. Our ceremony was about 10 minutes long and needless to say, everyone's most memorable moment was our dog. So our wedding was officially blessed by him! We had a few friends who had the inclination that we might be getting married that day, and the event was captured on film: |
hahahahah I'm glad it wasn't his opinion as to your announcement! |
Nice Touch!!! typical Sheepie to steal the show! |
Hilarious!!! |
That is really too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Haaaa !! I remember chuckling so loud when I first viewed that photo and seeing it again just brightened my day!
Now as for Lil Walty becoming a ring bearer..just change his name to Frodo for the day and I'm sure he'll do fine! Marianne and the boys |
