Oh I'm so jealous! LOL |
Hooray! That was superfast! I'm so glad you like it. Given your photoshop expertise, I am particularly embarassed by that darn blue line. . . [I know I know -- enough on that topic. ]
On the captions, it was Stacey's suggestion to credit the website on the pages and so I editorialized a bit. I am so corny. As if we needed reminders to come here. . |
LOL... it will be a great memorabilia item years from now, we can say *this is where I spent YEARS of my life!* LOL |
Val I think you did an awesome job with the calander, you know if you did not mention that blue line, non of us would of noticed LOL. Very clever idea and I hope to order one next year, just I got an OES calender already and not nearly as nice as the one you put together. So am very much looking forward to my oes.org one for next year, the other calender they can keep.LOL It's great the collages of everyones dogs, very very clever and special. GREAT JOB VAL, keep it up for ever |
Oh oh oh oh oh ! I am SO jealous!
Maybe mine will come tomorrow! Ooh - Val shipped one to a friend of mine in NY - I bet she gets HERS tomorrow . . . . if this doesn't make her pick up the phone and call me, nothing will! |
So jealous! Can't wait to get mine. |
Oh, I'm jealous too. I am waiting for my calendar to come. I am so excited about it. I want to show it off to everyone when I receive it.
Thanks again Val. |
I am jealous too. Being that I am on the West Coast I will probably be the last to get it
I can't wait to show it off to everyone that comes to my house. Of course this Calendar is better than any other Sheepie calendar because our dogs are in it. I can't wait to see all those beautiful Sheepies Thanks again Val for doing this! You did a GREAT job! |
What blue line??? |
no i will be the last one to get it
my poor little calender will have to get on a plane and fly its way to the uk oh how envious i am i just can't wait zoe end einy |
same here i cant wait to recieve mine wonder who will get theres first in the uk |
I shoulda had it shipped to my office!
|
I got mine yesterday, too! They look TERRIFIC!!! And the blue line is BARELY noticeable, and only if you're actually looking for it. I buy a sheepie calendar every year, but it's so cool to have one that actually has your own dog in it!!
Val, kudos, kudos, kudos!!! You know, of course, that you will now HAVE to create a new one every year!! Chris PS: Love the post-it note, too. Great picture of Chumley and Maggie! |
That's it Chris, rub it in. . . .
|
I am so hoping mine arrives today!! I can't wait to see it!! |

I can't wait! I hope my Alice Cooper look alike mailman brings my calendar today! |
I'm so psyched!! I just love seeing them all packed together on a page -- so similar and so distinct at the same time. It really makes me smile.
Now, if you really want to get fancy -- for those of you with picture messaging on your cellphones, I can send monthly excerpts of the calendar pages to be used as wallpaper / backgrounds. . . i've got january on my phone and I love it. of course, you could just send yourself your own pictures of your own dogs, but that is just not the same thing. . . Any takers? Just send me a pm. . . |

I got my calendar, I got my calendar!
Yippie!!!!! They are even more beautiful than I had hoped! Joan was impressed with their quality!!! I wish it was a ten year calendar! Valerie, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! /me dancing |
zahra wrote: Not only mean, obviously needing reading glasses. So sorry... In August there is a picture of a sheepie and a little guy I thought
was Tasker.. The decline of the baby booming years is a slippery slope..... For the first effort, I limited pictures to just sheepies. I think if we all want a calendar next year, I think April babies / May puppies could just be one month and that would give us the space to dedicate a page to pictures of sheepies with other pets. [I've given this WAY too much thought.] |
I just got mine ..It looks sooooooooo good..I just love it!!! Who says you cant live vicariously through your kids or pets....Panda is FAMOUS now....finally, someone in our family has "made" it |
It means so much to have our own sheepie in it, I can't wait for mine to get here.
Love the idea of a page to sheepie and siblings (other dogs), Ziva can be famous too. Now everyone can take their cameras everywhere to get lots of cool shots...or best costumes, beach bikini shots, hair-do's.... |
I can't wait to get home and see if mine is there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Ginny, I think we should declare a personal emergency and leave work NOW.
The suspense is killing me! |
It just sooo nice...I keep looking at it....it was hard to keep my greasey lunch hands off of it!!!!!!!!!! |
floofdog wrote: Ginny, I think we should declare a personal emergency and leave work NOW.
The suspense is killing me! I can't I have two more pt's scheduled this afternoon . It's bad enough that I keep checking the computer between appointments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I'm actually stuck here too, for more hours than I care to think about, but I'm going to pretend that I can leave as soon as I finish the ___________.
I'll let you know how that works out for me. |
I'm so disappointed!! Mail came but without my calendar!! |
I'm sorry Tammy. It'll be there tomorrow for sure! I hope anyway. Priority mail usually doesn't take more than 3 days. . . |
It's okay, Val. You did your part!!
My boss and I were just commiserating about how bad our mail service is since we moved here (new office). Seems everything takes 2-3 days longer to arrive (and we're just 10 miles from our old address). Meanwhile...I'll live vicariously through those who have received theirs already!! |
I get to go home in about 15 minutes |
It's here, It's here............... I'd type more but I gotta go look at it |
Mine didn't come today
I just checked the mail |
It's here and it's AWESOME!!!!!!!! Gotta go for walkies & then Boo has school and then I can finally sit down and enjoy! Val, you are the best! |
Not here, yet, but I'm sure it will get held up at the border...Maybe all the Customs fellows will think it is a suspcius package, and open it up...and then oooh and aaaaw over it...It is addressed to my hubby, as a surprise for him, so I can't wait!
He came home today with two calendars from his work (boring ones with pictures of houses) and was looking for places to hang them up. I wasn't much help in deciding....Heeheeeheee... |
Got my calendar yesterday and it rocks! I wish I had bought 2, one for home and one for work. Note to self: get 2 for 2007. I'm having such fun trying to identify all the dogs. Love the captions. Val, thank you for doing this job and doing it extremely well. |
I brought mine into work today and I fear that everyone who comes into my office will have to be shown every page!
I keep seeing pictures I hadn't noticed before, even though I've spent quite a bit of time staring at it with a silly grin on my face. Val, you really did us proud! |
I received my yesterday. After we ate supper we all sat at the table and admired and enjoyed all the sheepies. It is wonderful and the quality of the paper is more the good. I also love all the sayings on each page. I am sorry I only purchased one because my husband right away took it to work today to show off. Now I have to wait till Monday to bring it to my job to show it off.
Thanks again Val! We love it! |
THE BEST PRESENT OF THE YEAR!!!! Alice Cooper (our mailman) delivered it yesterday. I started opening it before Annie and I got in the door from our walk. Val, you did an awesome job. I too was really impressed by the quality of the paper. I had thought it would be flimsy paper, but it's some type of cardstock. The pictures are so vibrant too! I LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!! Steve barely stepped in the door and I put it in his hands to look at. I've looked at it so many times already to gaze at all th picutres. I have it hanging up in my cubicle at work. I'm sure I'll have some visitors admiring it. THANK YOU! |
Brian actually brought it to bed to look at it!!!!!!!! He kept saying how nice it was, then he asked the cost...and all he said was.."Wow, you guys are really into your dogs"...LOL |
Yeeehhaaaa!! They're here!! Can't stop oogling the beautiful photos! I want to see if I can figure out who each one is! It's amazing how you just automatically recognize most of them. So cool! Good thing I have most of my work done for today. |
Got mine today - great job Val (but I still can't find the blue line! next time make it bigger so us old guys can find it) |
I'm so psyched that everyone is enjoying the calendars! I left work early and when I came home and found a few more payments, I was able to include them in the batch that went in the mail today. . . There are just a few more to go. . . I love reading these happy messages! |
I didn't get mine today
I figured since Darcy got hers yesterday that I would have gotten mine today. As soon as I heard the Mail "Lady" I went outside expecting to see my calendar and cheer me up a bit. It better come tomorrow. So much for Priority Mail. If I were you Val, I would complain. Normal mail from the east coast takes only 4 days. |
I'm sorry Elissa. I wish the calendar could have been there for you.
Unfortunately, priority mail does not come with a delivery timeframe guarantee. It is really just the same as first class mail but for larger packages than you can send first class. But if you want me to complain -- if it would make you feel even the tiniest bit better -- I'll do it. I hope it comes tomorrow. <crossing my fingers> |

I think I have decided to take it to work because I'll really get to look at it MORE there At home it would be a "look at in passing" thing, at work I can put it by my desk and look at it throughout the say

ITS HERE.... ITS HERE.....Arrived this morning
Ah Its Brilliant Well Done Val... Oh I can't stop Looking at it.. Maizie is a cover girl LOL LOL LOL Kim & Maizie |
Val - did you keep a master list or something to judge the "name that dog" contest? |
Not exactly but I can retrace my steps to figure out who posted each picture.
Are you game? Should we do it? I'll start another thread if there's interest. . . |
I've been sort of doing it on my own as I look at the pages. Might be fun! |
Calendars arrived safe and sound........and finally saw the blue line! However I had to go looking for it.
When I first showed the calendar to husband he pointed to the Brown Trout calendar on wall as said, "We already have one." I replied, "But these are "real" sheepdogs, foibles and all." Of course he enjoyed each picture. Between Snowball Face and Mud-dog, could have been pixs of our kids. sheepieboss |
I got mine yesterday - LOOOOVE it! Thanks Val. |
I got mine yesterday too, LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!
Thanks again Valerie |
Don't have mine yet
tapping fingers........... |
I got one yesterday too. Val you are so sweet for the gift and all you have done in making this calendar for the forum. I just love it!
My hat is off to you. |

Brown Trout........you are going to make me check the company name, huh? Yep, www.browntrout.com All breeds, printed US but the dogs are a bit too buffed and puffed for me. |
OH!!! I thought somehow you had a calendar with TROUT pictures. That seemed very odd that your husband would think that the trout and the sheepdogs were interchangeable. I didn't realize it was a company. |
You know those cranky Trout models, always wanting to get finished and back in the water. Afraid of dehydrating. So high maintenance! |
Valerie wrote: OH!!! I thought somehow you had a calendar with TROUT pictures. That seemed very odd that your husband would think that the trout and the sheepdogs were interchangeable. I didn't realize it was a company.
That's the same thing I thought! What a horrible name for a company that makes calendars! |
Maxmm wrote: You know those cranky Trout models, always wanting to get finished and back in the water. Afraid of dehydrating. So high maintenance!
Exactly! |
LOL! Sorry for the misunderstanding
Well, actually come irrigation season MO would qualify as a brown trout sheepdog. You'd think she was chasing brown trout and trying to bite them.......coming ou perfectly brown herself. |
We got it! We got it! We got it!
I had asked to mail it to my hubby, as it was a surprise. He called me at work all in shock and said "Did you put Bosley's picture in a calendar? He is on the cover!" So I asked to look at October where he found his boy in a tutu, and then he guessed the rest. He is soooo happy and now we have to find a special place in the house for it to go. First he is taking it to work to show all the folks at the warehouse, and then I get my turn to take it to the office. We were looking at it together, and laughed at some of the pictures, and I was pointing out the dogs I knew. I guess he never really realized how this forum works, and how all our dogs are virtual pals, and we all kind of know each other. He was very touched, and I know it means so much to him. Bosley is his baby... |
Awwww. I'm so thrilled by how much you all are enjoying the calendars. I really am touched by it which is funny because it is the pictures themselves that are making everyone smile -- I just brought them together into something we can enjoy offline. I feel the same way -- like I know all of you and your dogs and having all the pictures together is such a treat. It really does feel like a personal calendar. These aren't just random sheepies. They are our friends!
I used such a random selection process that I do feel a bit bad for anyone who may have wanted their dog in the calendar that I inadvertently omitted. I had no idea going into the project what the reaction of everyone would be or who would want one. . . I'm really looking forward to tons more pictures this year and a great calendar for 2007 too. . One thing that would help is if people would mark favorite photos in the gallery with stars because I looked at the top-rated photos and the most viewed photos when I was narrowing down the choices. That is an easy way to determine which photos people like the most. . . THanks for all the happy "got my calendar" messages! It is really fun to read them. |
I've showed my copy around as well......to dog people, who have laughed at the pictures. The extra copy I delivered today to friends with an OES and will be getting a puppy next week. The lady doesn't see well, so pulled out her magnifier. Nothing like sheepie people to appreciate all the antics shown on the calendar.
sheepieboss |
I got my calendar! YAY!! It looks SUPER Valerie! You did a great job. It's funny how they all look related in some way or other to a present or past sheepie! One great big sheepie world! Thanks again |
Well SOME of them actually are related. hehe
Shayleigh and her pups made the front cover. Woohoo! More of the pups later on the puppy page - that's them crawling out of the blue pool and one of blue-eyed Bailey on the brick steps. What a wonderful treasure! Excellent photos all and the collage effect is just superb! Not sure what to do with the calendar. Hate to muss it up so likely will just pull it out to show folks that come over. |
OMG...I'm in Winnipeg right now...and I'm dying to know if ours has come!!!!
My flight gets in pretty late on Monday night...but I will stop by my mailbox on the way back from the city...with a flashlight and check in there!!! I can hardly wait!!! |
Got mine today....it looks wonderful Val. Love the captions as well. |
Got mine...just love it
Looks like a BIG happy sheepie family Such a wonderful idea! Thanks... Diane |
