Annie spent her first night at one of our neighbors' house on Saturday. Despite the fact that she stood up twice on their granite countertops before I left the house. I just about died and thought what a wonderful first impression as an overnight guest in their home. She was of course looking for food so we put everything away before I left. They love Annie so much and apparently she was a good girl. They kept her from 2:30 on Sat until 3:00 on Sun when they walked her home (I came home about 1 hr later). This couple has 2 kids around our age and used to have 2 Bichons so they are dog people. They call Annie "Bob's Girlfriend" and he even has pictures of her on his screensaver at work with other family photos. Annie went trick or treating over to his house this year. Great people! Annie was exhausted by the time I came home. She barely said hello and crashed the rest of the night. I'm such a proud Mommy of my little girl and I'm that we have such wonderful neighbors! |

That's great, Stacy! It's so nice that you have good neighbors to help you, too. Bravo Annie! |
That is so cute! How sweet of your neighbors? Did they just need some doggie companionship or were they doing you a favor? Did you send along her pjs and favorite blankey? What did you do on your night off? |
Good girl Annie That's the way to get invited back. |
Stacy, it's great that you have friends that you can leave Annie with! It's such a relief to know that your baby is being well taken care of. |
What a good girl!!!!!!!!!!! |
You are so lucky to have a next door neighbor that will watch annie at their house..mine comes over to feed panda, but only spends a few min a day with her...its very upsetting while we are gone..... |
Yes, we are so fortunate to have several good neighbors. We moved to our house in Nov 2004 and immediately made friends with several neighbors famiulies. Bob is always doing something in his yard or riding his bike so he meets everyone and their dogs. He loves dogs and always wanted a bigger dog, but they had the smaller ones (Bichon Frises). Since their kids are grown and live in Colorado and the dogs are gone, they like to watch other people's dogs. Kind of how I feel about other people's kids. I don't want my own, but I like when others' kids come visit to do something fun and then I can send them home...less responsibility and headaches.
Steve (husband) was at his annual convention for work in the city from Wed-Sun. He stayed overnight at the Sheraton near the Chicago River. I decided to go down there on Sat night. We went out to some foufou northern Italian restaurant. Service and all the food was good except the main courses were very foufou for us. Mine turned out to be a $20 plate of stew! Steve's dish tasted like cheese rice although it was some kind of fancy risotto. Then we walked down Michigan Ave a little bit and went in one of my favorite stores, Petite Sophisticate/Casual Corner, that I found out is going out of business throughout the entire country. We then went back to the hotel and I stayed the night! It was a nice treat and date night! |
What a good girl Annie is, and how lovley to have nice neighbours to doggie sit. |
I have a neighbour just like you. Ever since they put their Dog down Bunker spends alot of time over there. I get the typical greeting when I walk in the door and then she bolts for the backyard and barks until Elton comes out and gets her. She sleeps on the their bed, couch and if he is out front cleaning his car or the car door is open she just jumps right in.
