Sounds good! |
another idea for guac is instead of mustard, try a little mayo...really rich...and when I make salsa I use a cheese grater for everything, except the onions....im trying yours though steph this week... |
Sometimes we put in a little low fat sour cream for the guac instead of, or along with, the mustard...so along the same lines as your mayo!
**Please note that I eliminated many peppers in my salsa for y'all...I thought this seemed like a good 'safe' number--my hubbie and I like our salsa HOT, so we tend to use more peppers... Darcy, the cheese grater sounds like a great idea for the salsa--do you even grate the tomatoes? |
yes, i cut the tomatoes in half and then grate them....learned that trick from my boss....oh and i use garlic salt too....I usually use 4 beef steak tomatoes.... |
Haven't had guacamole in forever... mmmmm |
I love guacamole. I had it twice this week already. Here's how I make it.
1 avacado a few shakes of green Tabasco a few shakes of lime juice a few shakes of salt Jalepenas if I have any grated 1 tsp. of mayo a few shakes of worshestershire sauce about one or two Tablespoons salsa I mash the avacado with a potatoe masher and leave it a little chunky and stir the above ingredients in. Sometimes I put garlic in to. I'm gonna try Barneys recipe I never had it with mustard in looks good. |
all sounds so good, one thing, use the lagest side of grater, you can grate the onion. but then your salsa will not be chunky. Try grating the onion when making meatballs. works great! |
Oh the purists around here would have a hissy fit!
I've been known to sneak in some mayo or sour cream.........but the mustard is new. Of course you all know how I feel about that dirty sock herb, Drat, I just home home from the store.........maybe tomorrow . |

Wow, I didn't know you could grate a tomato without it just getting destroyed! |
thats the whole point...it grates the tomato...it also works great for making home made tomato sauce.....dont use the skin though... |
