Calendar!! (Better Late than Never?)

I had to redo a couple of the pages. The ones marked "revised" are the correct ones. Because it is delayed, I can set it up for the calendar to run from Feb-Jan if anyone would prefer it that way. I can hardly wait to order mine! Hope you enjoy! |

I had to laugh because March has Bentley's picture resting it's head on Clyde - that's one of Bentley's favorite things to do! There's also a picture of Belle on the same page, right under Drezzie, and that made me tear up in a good way. (Boy, that was a bad haircut I gave her! How could you guys tell me it looked good, LOL!  )

| I had so much fun doing it! I guess if people want one, send me a PM or email so I know how many to order. Include the following info:
1. your mailing address 2. Payment method (paypal or check) 3. whether you want it to run Jan - Dec or Feb - Jan. They take about 3-5 days after the order is placed to be processed and then they are mailed by USPS, which means another 3-5 days or so in transit. The cost is $30 each (which includes shipping, tax, and a small surcharge for Ron). The price is a bit cheaper if we can get an order of 25 together (but we might want to give the difference to Ron. . .) |

We should set a deadline, and maybe I'll even try to get an email out to the membershiop (haven't done that in over a year!) and see if there's enough interest to order up some oes.org calendars. Does a name go somewhere on the cover? If so, have you picked a name for it yet? Is it a surprise? |

| I am so glad you like it! I just enjoy the pictures on this site so much that I was dying for my own calendar. And once you make one, it is a simple thing to order more.
I was going to call it 2006: Sheepies Galore (with a subcaption photos courtesy of www.oes.org) but if anyone has something better to suggest please do so. I think it is also possible to put member birthdays on the pages in a caption -- but that might be overkill? If there's interest, I will do it. . . I just love it. I love all the photos. Keep em coming and I will do it again next year! |

| OK so it looks like there is enough interest so that we will be able to make a bulk order. If you get your info to me by Wednesday noon, you can get special discount price of $25 and if you pay by paypal, you can deduct another dollar. If you do want to pay extra, the proceeds will go to Ron. Send me a pm with your info and I'll send back either my mailing address for your check or my email address for paypal.
I think the general consensus is to have calendar run Feb -to Jan. If you want Jan to Dec, that's a special order and will not get the cheaper price. . . I'm so pleased by the positive responses!! |

| Valerie, I keep going back to the pictures and looking at them and I have to tell you again what a great job you did. I just can't believe you threw this thing together in such a short amount of time. YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You did a great job of grouping the pictures on each month. It's especially funny when I realized how many of the dogs I RECOGNIZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's like we get to know each other's dogs like they were kids!!!

| Thanks so much! The longest time was spent going through all the pages of photos, downloading and organizing them into categories. Then with extreme reluctance I had to ditch many that are so very cute on screen but were of insufficient size to print. I would then open them all into one big pile in photoshop (kind of like having them on a big pile on the table) and move them around, resize and crop til they all fit. It was a fun puzzle. I also felt like I "knew" alot of the dogs from stories. But there were a lot I did not know too.
If anyone is curious, here was the idea behind the pages: January -- Snow February -- Portraits March -- Smiling April - babies May -- Puppies June -- action/sports July -- Water August -- Buddies (each picture has at least 2 sheepies) Sept -- Antics Oct - Costumes Nov -- Sleeping December -- Holidays! Let me know if you want to order one. It will be printed by kodakgallery (formerly ofoto). I used them last year and the calendars are really cute and bright, spiral bound. A bit smaller than the calendars you see in stores but still a very enjoyable view. . . |

| Bosley has very gradually become my hubby's dog. Hubby is not really a dog person, but kind of does the dog-thing for me. However, you should hear now him talk about Bosley as HIS sheepdog. He grooms him almost every day, takes him to the dog park on a regular basis and has even been working with him in obedience training. I show him what to do and I often hear them practicing in the next room. I definitely need a calendar, as I see HIS dog in there at least 4 times. He will be so proud! Thank you Valerie! I could see having a selection process if there's only going to be one picture per month. The collage format gives us a ton of pictures and seemed to have more oomph. I love seeing all the differences and all the similarities all on one page, times 12. Every page makes me smile. |

| WHAT A WONDERFUL SURPRISE!!! This is gorgeous! After posting the idea for a calendar the other day, I started thinking...what did I get myself into??? I was thinking about how everyone would mail me a zillion pictures and I'd need to pick and organize them. Didn't mind that part, but had no idea how I would get them printed. This is GREAT! I think many of Annie's files must have been too big, but I do see her half asleep on the couch! So cute! I LOVE IT!

| I'm so glad you like it. I actually missed your post about doing a calendar. I'd been planning it for some time but didn't get around to it til this past weekend.
It was very hard choosing so I set certain groundrules for myself re image size/quality, no professional/studio shots, no people, no other animals and no enhanced photos or photos with captions. Many of Annie's adorable pictures didn't make it because they were professional shots and I was concerned about copyright issues. In other cases, the files uploaded were too small to use. I had the same problem with Darcy's pics. I had a similar issue with LisaOES because hers were either graphically enhanced or had captions and so didn't really work. Just fyi, prices to Canada are the same as US ($25USD if you order early as part of the bulk discount. Equals $29CAD). Unfortunately, shipping to UK costs an extra $10. . . Paypal is definitely preferred. I'm going to increase incentive by giving paypal users a $2 discount! (Sign up! it's Free!). If anyone has sent payment via paypal already, I will refund the extra $1. Oh, and I used Photoshop -- the best program in the world. It has a steep learning curve. I highly recommend Photoshop Elements (latest version is 4) for anyone just getting started with photo editing. . . Better programs make things much easier to do. |
