Okay I Can Go To Bed Now!

Well I'm at that inbetween stage of my life. Didn't mind staying home on New Years and really looked forward to just relaxing in front of the fire with the various critters.

If you guys think that you will eventually get to that stage of your life ...perhaps...unless you have a Teen in the house. Urg!! They (in this case my son) are at the age where they go out...and you end up staying up anyhow. Dunno if that's written in the Mothers Rule Book or not..but anyhow now he's sleeping over at his friends (I'm three hours behind the time shown on the forum) so I can go to bed now and stop posting so much on here.

That's it...thanks for the forum Ron which allowed me to stay up and keep busy while doing my motherly duty of staying up for my son.
Groan doesn't matter what time I go to bed either, the furballs all wake me up at the usual time of 6 am. I'll be blurry eyed tomorrow and people will think I must have partied into the wee hours of the morning.

Marianne I laughed when I read this because it was such a releif when my kids went of to college and I didn't have to stay up at night waiting for them to come home any longer!!! Sarah is home for the holidays and she can not get over the fact that we go to bed at NINE OCLOCK every night (including last night). After sooooooooo many years of sitting up til the the weee wee WEEEEEEEEEEE hours of the morning it is such a luxury not to do that ANY MORE :D YOUR DAY WILL COME!!!
What a good mother you are. :) I'm not looking forward to the years when my boys want to go out, lol We were all asleep by 10 pm last night. I couldn't have stayed up even if I wanted to. I was exhausted.
My daughter stayed at a friends' and my two boys are not all that enthusiastic about the whole new year thing, so I didn't have to stay up late. We stayed up til midnight though, and then went to bed. LOL
Talking with grocery clerk yesterday, she was so grateful her married daughter and son-in-law have decided going out for New Year's Eve is just too dangerous and from now on will stay home. Even going out to an early dinner is dangerous. The clerk's daughter is in her 30's, but mother's still worry.

Glad your son is safe.
Geez Marianne, I was wondering how with all the irons you have in the fire and all the pets you had time to responst all the time with such good posts. Thanks to your teenage son. :D
I don't think you ever stop worrying. Mine are 21 & 18, both were away for New Year, One came home last night, relief, the other is due home today. All I can say is thank goodness for mobile phones. Yep drive my boys nuts, are you OK, what time are you coming home, where are you etc etc etc. Nagging Mum, that's me & I don't think I will ever change.

I still don't sleep properly till I hear the front door and know they are home safe and sound.

Gee wonder what I will be like when they vacate the nest!! 8O
