We have just hit a record breaking 43c for december and no relief till mid morning tomorrow. Looks like A/C is going to be on all night as the temperature is not going under 27c tonight. |

43C = 43 * 1.8 = 77.4 + 32 = 109.4F 27C = 27 * 1.8 = 48.6 + 32 = 80.6F |
Thanks Ron!!!!
Yup...it obviously gets wickedly hot there too.....do you vacation somewhere cooler when it gets this hot? We usually go to San Diego, Its a lot cooler by the ocean...is it the same for you? |
The scary thng is it's only December. Just the beginning of Summer for them, that's like June for us here in the Northern Hemisphere. |
hate to be the google master today, but you can type that into google.com or ask.com.....something like "convert 43 celcius to F" and it appears. |
Yes Darcy down by the beach is slightly cooler, my two sons went for new year, we didn't go because did not want to travel in the heat with the girls even though the car has A/C.
You get hot too where you live as well, we still have the hottest yet to come in January and February. Last summer in Feb we had about 4 days in the 40's with 48 being a record breaker, as well we have had drought for quite a few years. Water restrictions etc over summer, hence no lawn and just a dust bowl at the moment. |
I know all about the drought and dust bowl effect....stay cool....but id still rather be too hot than too cold! |
Well my husband has just set off for our Holdiay Farm at Jamieson as last night big bush fires raging in the area. Racing across the mountain ranges and with the cool change happening could get worse with high winds expected. If it keep leaping across the mountains then we are in trouble there. He has gone to check all the fittings for the fire tanks and clear leaves from the gutters of the house and luckily we had 1 acre around the house slashed and tidied just 1 month ago. Am staying home with the girls as too risky to go and help just in case a quick exit is needed. He will stay overnight and see what happens in the next 24 hours up there. Keeping fingers crossed that rain is going to come with the change and it does not get too close to where we are. |
Sounds like you need divine intervention....
Either from the Supreme Architect of the Universe..... ...or Elvis! |
Wow... that sounds awful... I'll take snow over that kind of heat anyday! |
Rain has fallen, Yipeeeee |
Yay, I've been holding my breath... |
Hi Lisa
I wanted to comment on the sock incident..that had me in stitches and I even mentioned it on the phone this evening to a friend. As for the following things you commented on : I pray your house will be safe and the rains come. I'll be thinking of you. Marianne and the boys |
Does seem as though some of us who are sitting in the ice and snow aught to be able to share some of that cold with the folks in the heat and humidity and vice/versa........ so that we are all at a nice comfy 75 degrees F with a slight breeze and sunny exposure and rain only after the sun goes down.................. |
