We'll be in Hershey for New Years. Once again my husband's band is playing so there will be a group of chicks standing lonely at midnight. Grrr, stupid musicians! But just in case anyone is interested (Hint, Hint, Shellie!!!!) here's the website for the big festivities. It's Hershey's first New Year's celebration. They are planning to raise a giant Hershey's kiss. Unfortunately it's not made of chocolate. http://hersheynewyears.org/ So where is eveybody else going? |

I am going to Hobart Drive in South Elgin, Illinois. I plan on only going out that day in the late afternoon to see the Wonder Pony then stop for Chinese food to take home. I will be in my sock monkey pjs by 6pm and in bed by 10:30.
I lead such an exciting life. |
My daughter has been home for the holidays, she finds it quite amusing that we are usually in bed by 9:00 every night. In fact she finds it down right HYSTERICAL. An ad came on TV the other night for Dick Clark's New Years Eve show, Doug and I looked at each other, briefly considered it but then agreed that since it doesn't start til 10PM odds are we wouldn't be watching it So I guess I have to say we'll be sleeping I'm not sure what's going to happen when we REALLY get old!!!! |
We only believe in last minute plans for New Year's Eve. My guess is we'll wind up at someone's house for an impromptu party-- maybe even our own! |
It's almost downright embaressing to admit I'll probably be home alone on New Years. It's been that way since Panda came into my household as he freaks out when he hears fireworks. It's getting better but I'll staying home with the boys and probably will watch Dick Clark ringing in the New Years.
Mandy, the party sounds like fun!! If I had the cash I'd be heading on a plane to join you and the "chicks" (although I'm not a spring chicken) for a night of revelry. One of these days....one of these days.... Marianne and the boys |
Im going over Sue and Baileys house....she and Tim are having a house warming party...Brian is working again...drat the holidays...but Ill be home by 9 ish and in bed by 10 ish....I need sleep and I have to work the next day.....sigh |
We were planning to go to the surf coast and stay overnight as there is great new years celebrations there. BUT probably stay home as we are expecting 38c on new years eve, too hot for me and sheepies, rather be home in airconditiong!! |
We don;t do anything new years... I have to work new years eve during the day, and then it's just no different from any other day. Anytime i've made any attempt to plan or do something hubby falls asleep anyway, which makes me mad and so there's just no point. LOL |
The new BF is taking me for Dinner and dancing. Could be very interesting. |
Well, this year we may be having plans with my closest friend and her latest boyfriend. I've only met him once or twice, but I don't think he's right for her. It's a very very long story. Things are still up in the air though. We did rent 6 movies so we'll probably eat, watch movies, play games, I'll roll my eyes at the drinkers... |
Mandy...have fun playing bouncer and keeping the groupies off of your husband and friends....wear a lot of dark eyeliner and big hair....ie just try to look mean....scare those nasty babes away......or even better...play the groupie part yourself...and make the others jealous of how quickly you got a band member....lol |
One of the great things about living in AZ (or anywhere West) is that you can have a New Year's Eve party that starts at 5 or 6, have a nice dinner and some champagne, watch the ball drop in NY at 10pm our time, and have everyone safely home before the really drunken maniacs hit the road. We're only having a small group so far, but you never know who might show up!

We are having a very traditional Maritime New Year's Eve...... A kitchen seafood party. For you guys that don't know what that is, here's how:
Have playing in the background the most whaling celtic music you can get your hands on First Course: 10 to 15lbs of steamed mussels.. with melted garlic butter, washed down with Alexander Keith's beer. Second Course: Approximately 10lbs of stir fried Digby Scallops.. with melted garlic butter.. washed down with Alexander Keith's beer. Third Course: Poached Atlantic Salmon... with a lemon dill sauce.. but if you like garlic, you can dip it in melted butter. Final Course: (my personal favourite), Steamed Lobster... with.. you got it.. melted garlic butter, washed down with Alexander Keith's beer. So if you haven't guessed.. Maritimers like their seafood smothered in garlic butter washed down with beer.. and it doesn't matter if your house is 4000 sq ft. (which mine isn't) the only 2 rooms that will be used in the house are the Kitchen and the Bathroom.. and if there is someone in the bathroom when you need to go.. off the deck works just as well. You are all invited!!! PS.. there are no worries of vampires sucking on your neck when you pass out from the beer!!! |
Wow what a great feast, us aussies looove seafood and beer, what more could you need, perfection at its best
We just had an amended forcast for new years eve, 42C Arrrgh it's getting worse!! |
Dale and I were just talking about this tonight, too. So far, no plans. If no one is having a party (which is the case this year), we usually just go to an early dinner, maybe a movie, and then back home WAY before the stroke of midnight. Ah, what an exciting life these old people live!!
