This poor boy It doesn't sound like he's had a very good life, how hard would it be to look up "deaf dogs" on the internet And putting him in the basement during bad weather, well, that is SO nice I hope he gets the great home he deserves with people who care enough to do right by him. |
Nita-
Any luck for this boy? bdx4 |
Have a couple possibilities but nothing definite. Any ideas??? |
I wish I could take him, I have my hands full with a sick boy. Poor guy, he deserves so much better. Someone with a big heart will come along soon and he'll have a wonderful home. |
I was just wondering if there are any updates on this guy? I wish I didn't live in an apartment, I'd take him in a heartbeat! Unfortantely 2 sheepies in a 1 bedroom probably isn't the best...keep us posted! |
Shag is still listed on the NEOESR site. http://neoesr.org/doghome.htm He has to have a fenced yard because of his deafness (or he'd be at MY house now!) A full-time dog-parent would be a plus as he needs to catch up on some training. OES experience is a must. No one has met the adoption criteria yet or are not in a position to adopt at this time
I heard the family's situation may have changed since my last posting so I will follow up on that and report back. Thanks to everyone for your interest in this big guy. Keep your paws crossed for him. Nita |
I learned today that Shag is safe until the family's son returns to college next month. Trying to come up with at least a temporary solution before then. Stay tuned.... |
can you arrange for shipping???
actually it's quite possible my landlord would kill me, but my inquiry stands. i'm in NY. |
I hate to be a wet blanket, but I'd think it's important that your housing w/multiple dogs situation be squared away before shipment...
We'd hate to have to place both of your dogs and YOU too, Ed! (I mean the dog's be easy, but where could we possibly find a place for a young, handsome, strapping young man?) Oh wait... MARIANNE? Where are you? But seriously, it's all about giving the dog a stable environment after such an upheaval in life. |

actually i'm square, i'm allowed multiple fuzzy pals, just not committing 100%. a bigger problem would be the "no other male dogs" part, i missed that the first few tiems through the listing. |
Ed, there is an 18 month male in New York. He is listed here(dogs in trouble). |
I have some good news and some bad news about Shag...
The good news is that he has been adopted by a wonderful family!!! The bad news is that he has tested positive for heartworms. To treat heartworms, have him neutered and get him up to date on vaccinations will cost approximately $1,300. We're going to try to raise the money thru the NEOESR to pay these expenses. If you would like to help this beautiful guy, your donations to the NEOESR would be greatly appreciated. You can go to: http://www.sheepiestuff.com/donations.html and charge through PayPal and add "For Shag" in the comment section. Shag has had a difficult life and now has the chance to live like all sheepies should. Loved, wanted, healthy and happy. I sincerely appreciate any help you can give this boy. Thanks for your help and concern, Nita |
I'm so happy he found a furever home! Come on OES forum, let's sponsor this guy this year. He's had such a hard life so far. XOXOXOX |
I just made a donation. I am so happy Shag is getting a furever home.
