This brought back many memories of the time my then eight year old son, announced that if Santa were real he wanted the following items. He picked up a flyer from the newspaper and pointed to a CD player with that words he wanted that specific one. Todd also said he wanted a silver bell from the sleigh and lastly Rudolf's autograph. He made this announcement at midnight on Christmas Eve just before his bedtime that evening for proof Santa really existed. Now to parents whom love the magic a child who believes in Santa in the house, this was imperative that his wishes came true. He was at the age where he was questioning Santa's existance and as the years fly by so fast I wanted to preserve that one last bit of his childhood for as long as possible. Smart little guy he was he also knew that the stores were now long closed and it was impossible for us to purchase any of the items he mentioned. Alas in the true spirit of Christmas miracles...it just so happened that I had bought the exact same CD player that he had pointed to. Pretty ironic as there were virtually hundreds on the market and several shown in that flyer. Next came the silver bell....my mother, his dad, brother and I searched everywhere amongst all the ornaments not used that year for a silver bell. Then I remembered the beautiful stuffed Rudolf I had hanging downstairs whom had a silver bell across his harness. Next came Rudolf's autograph....aka in the form of Blue and an ink pad. We were out on the backporch at 2 am dipping his feet on the ink pad and then on a large piece of paper. Had several flip flops of the heart when Blue ran into the house with the rose colored carpets with ink still on his foot pads. No matter however, as we had accomplished the impossible to make a young child believe in Santa at least for a little while longer. Long story but had to share this one. Merry Christmas from Marianne and the boys |

I loved the movie Polar Express. I think it may well become the classic holiday movie for my kids generation. |
Well, the fact that you had bought that exact CD player gave me chills and as far as I'm concerned, it's proof positive that Santa really does exist!
Smart kid you got there, but then, I'm not surprised. |
