growling

Okay, our new puppy is testing my limits. He keeps growling, not like playing growling, mostly at our 5 year old daughter. :?
I don't like it! He broke her skin yesterday. I understand he is a puppy and I probably just got extremly lucky with our first one whom our little girl uses as her pillow. Well not now, since the puppy constantly attacks Archie, but I don't remember him ever being that "aggressive?". The little guy just never gives up. Even when Archie gets him and he yelps he comes hides by me for a second and than "attacks" Archie again. Is this considered playing? I know Archie gets kind of annoyed and I try to find Bennie something to do that doesn"t envolve interrupting Archies nap. But he wont have it. If Archie moves Bennie is right there, it doesn't seem to bother him if Archie doesn't want that and if Archie gets to rough with the puppy the puppy growles and goes for (I'll call it the mean) nipping. Any ideas? I have started try to teach him some basics but feel somewhat confused since Archie is always right next to us and it seems he hast started to know Bennie's name better than his own, haha. :?

Sounds like you've got a dominant puppy, and another male right. I hope you don't have future dominance issues. As long as Archie remains top dog, it should be fine, but he maybe unsurped from that position.
I would keep them seperated if your trying to teach the puppy obedience. You need his undivided attention. You should take him through obedience classes. He does not recognize your daughter as alpha, more like equals or less. Have him work for his food, sit, stay etc. have your daughter feed him too, divide his kibble and make an obedience session the way you feed him. Then place him in his kennel for a time out, if he's getting to bad. I always put BitterApple stuuf on my kids so if the dog put his mouth on them he'd get a very bad taste in his mouth, and then that part would stop.
PS...I don't have an OES, but I have had alot of dogs come live with us.
